The Ab Initio Data Engineer will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing ETL pipelines and data workflows for the SBC Collection Project, which manages delinquent accounts, third-party outsourcing, and recovery analytics. The role requires deep technical expertise in Ab Initio development, debugging, and performance tuning within large-scale data warehouse environments. Key Responsibilities - Develop and enhance Ab Initio ETL workflows for data extraction, transformation, and loading across collection and recovery systems. - Debug and optimize existing Ab Initio code for performance and efficiency. - Collaborate with business teams to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions. - Maintain data quality, integrity, and accuracy across ETL processes. - Work with cross-functional teams to integrate Ab Initio workflows with AWS-based data products and reporting frameworks. - Participate in design reviews, peer code reviews, and deployment activities. - Ensure adherence to best practices in data engineering, CI/CD, and release management. - Identify automation opportunities and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Technical Skills - Primary Tool: Ab Initio (Graphical Development Environment, Continuous Flows, and EME). - ETL & DW: Strong ETL concepts, data modelling, data validation, and transformation logic. - Databases: Teradata, Cloudera Hadoop. - Cloud Platforms: AWS or Azure exposure preferred. - Programming: SQL, Unix shell scripting, and basic Python scripting. - CI/CD: Familiarity with build and deployment pipelines in data environments. Preferred Skills - Experience in Banking or Financial Services domain, particularly collections or delinquency management systems. - Knowledge of Snowflake or other modern data warehouse platforms. - Understanding of Data Delivery Life Cycle, Agile methodology, and enterprise data standards. - Experience handling large datasets with high SLAs in production-grade environments.
