JOB PURPOSE DESCRIPTION We are looking for a motivated Junior Network Engineer to join our newly created global network services team This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills and gain hands-on experience in managing and supporting our global network infrastructure The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of network engineering including basic knowledge of Checkpoint firewalls Meraki platforms and network automation The primary focus will be on assisting with the operational management of our network including monitoring performance troubleshooting issues and ensuring high availability and reliability The candidate will also support network projects collaborate with cross-functional teams and assist in the implementation of new technologies and infrastructure solutions Additionally they will work closely with senior engineers and regional networking teams across the world to ensure cohesive and efficient global network operations KEY RESPONSIBILITES Assist in managing and optimizing global network infrastructure to ensure seamless connectivity and robust performance Monitor network performance troubleshoot issues and ensure high availability and reliability Support network projects including upgrades expansions and new deployments Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align network strategies with business goals Assist in maintaining and managing Checkpoint firewalls and other security solutions Assist in maintaining and managing Meraki platforms and other networking solutions Assist in the development and implementation of network automation solutions to enhance efficiency and reliability Develop DevNet skills to automate network tasks and streamline operations Document network configurations and implementation tasks Support and implement change management strategies Share knowledge discoveries ideas challenges and solutions with peers managers and executives Provide emergency operational support outside office hours when necessary JOB REQUIREMENTS Education Certificates College degree in Computer Science network administration system administration or equivalent CCNA certification is an asset Checkpoint CCSA certification is an asset Possession of any ITIL certifications is an asset Technical Skills Experience 0 5 -2 years of experience in network engineering Understanding of network protocols and standards IP and Ethernet technologies routing protocols OSPF EIGRP BGP and service quality parameters QoS Foundational knowledge and hands-on experience with Checkpoint firewalls and Meraki platforms Knowledge of the telecommunication industry in the following areas LAN WAN VPN IP Telephony network security firewall web filtering IPS IDS wireless technology and load balancing Basic expertise in network automation and DevNet skills is an asset Experience with network observability solutions and performance optimization Good communication and teamwork skills Experience with network security including IPS IDS web filtering and VPN is an asset Experience with industrial networking is an asset IT OT Experience with cloud networking and virtualization technologies is an asset Exposure to an international and diverse culture is an asset Experience in wireless network design and operation is an asset COMPETENCIES Strong capacity to work with a sense of urgency prioritize and multitask Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle stress effectively Entrepreneurial mindset with good communication skills Innovative problem-solver with creativity and meticulous planning abilities Customer-obsessed with a good sense of adaptability in a diversified environment working with both technical and non-technical audiences Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English Attention to detail and strong organizational skills Thrive in a customer-focused team environment Experience with end-user support and understanding of the internal customer s perspective demonstrating perseverance and emotional intelligence Creative and proactive approach to network and cybersecurity environments with good knowledge of industry standards legislation and best practices e g ITIL Demonstrate a development mindset embracing and managing change Passion for learning and engaging with new ideas able to challenge the status quo and propose scalable alternatives KEY RELATIONSHIPS Collaborate closely with senior network engineers and peers across all regions Frequent communication with regional network teams and IT managers across the world Regular interaction with global management to align network strategies with business goals Maintain dynamic and transparent communication with all IT teams and employees at all levels from different departments Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment ensuring effective communication and teamwork
