Principal Apache Flink Engineer at BairesDev We are seeking a Principal Apache Flink Engineer to drive technical vision and architecture for distributed stream processing systems. You'll influence Flink ecosystem strategy, design scalable platforms, and guide technical direction for the organization's streaming solutions. What You'll Do: - Contribute actively to Apache Flink and related open source projects as a core contributor. - Define architecture and optimize large-scale streaming pipelines with stateful processing. - Lead strategies for checkpointing, state management, fault tolerance, and high-throughput streaming. - Drive integration strategies with Kafka, Hive, Iceberg, and other systems. - Provide technical vision and leadership across teams, influencing roadmap, best practices, and Flink ecosystem contributions. What we are looking for: - 10+ years of experience in software development. - Strong expertise in distributed systems and large-scale real-time data processing. - Deep understanding of Apache Flink architecture, state management, checkpointing, event-time processing, and exactly-once semantics. - Proficiency in Java (primary), Scala, and Python (PyFlink) for ecosystem integrations. - Proven experience in designing, tuning, and scaling large streaming systems. - Core contributions to Apache open source projects (Flink, Kafka, Spark, Hive, or similar). - Advanced level of English.
