Job Description: Fashion Designer (Sampling + Production) – SAANTHA Location: Ranchi Brand: Saantha – Sustainable, artisan-led fashion (sarees, ethnic & contemporary wear) About Us: Saantha works with 2000+ artisans across Jharkhand to create elegant, handcrafted textiles. We are expanding our ready-to-wear and premium ethnic categories and are looking for a designer who can take complete ownership of design, sampling, and production. Role Overview: We are looking for an experienced and resourceful Fashion Designer who can independently handle end-to-end product development — from fabric sourcing to design, sampling, costing, and smooth production execution. The ideal candidate should be strong in cost-effective designing, maintaining artisanal detailing while meeting target budgets. Key Responsibilities: Lead design development for ethnic, fusion, and contemporary garments Create cost-effective designs aligned with brand pricing and target margins Manage fabric sourcing, trims, and vendor coordination Build tech packs, detailed sketches, and sampling instructions Oversee sampling, fit approvals, and timely production Work closely with artisans for hand embroidery, handloom detailing, and design execution Replicate, modify, and scale existing best-selling designs Ensure quality control during production Maintain production timelines and vendor follow-ups Work with internal teams for launches, photoshoots, and cataloging Requirements: 3–6 years of experience in ethnic, fusion, or artisan-based fashion Strong understanding of costing and budget-based design Hands-on experience in fabric sourcing, sampling, and production management Ability to translate artisan techniques into commercially viable styles Good sketching, communication, and vendor coordination skills Ability to handle multiple styles and deadlines independently Knowledge of hand embroidery placements and value-engineered detailing What We Offer: Opportunity to build a line for a fast-growing designer brand Creative freedom with access to artisan clusters A role with independence, ownership, and long-term growth To Apply: Please share your resume + design portfolio + current CTC + expected CTC at: astharatan@gmail.com
