exclusive live sports such as the Premier League and UEFA Champions League Roles Responsibilities As a Software Engineering Manager you will lead a team of software engineers driving technical execution and delivery for Warner Bros Discovery s family of Sports products brands including Eurosport NCAA MML and Bleacher Report You will work closely with product and project managers cross-functional teams and senior leadership to ensure the success of engineering initiatives Your role will involve hands-on technical contributions team mentorship and project management ensuring that engineering best practices are followed and that team members are supported in their growth and performance Lead mentor and manage a team of 3-6 software engineers fostering a high-performance engineering culture Own and drive key initiatives supporting the developer workflow from PR to release Foster collaboration with cross-functional partners and other engineering teams to drive alignment on technical and product roadmaps Provide technical guidance and ensure architectural and code quality standards Contribute to the technical vision and architecture for our platform ensuring scalability reliability and efficiency Monitor review and coach developer performance conduct regular performance appraisals and provide growth opportunities Own the hiring onboarding and development of engineers ensuring a diverse and high-performing team Drive technical innovation and advocate for engineering best practices Participate in Agile ceremonies and ensure team alignment with sprint goals Facilitate knowledge sharing and cross-team collaboration within WBD Sports Work hands-on when needed contributing to development efforts What to Bring 13-15 years of total experience in which 2 years of experience in leading and managing a software development teams providing coaching mentoring setting goals and recruiting talent 2 years of experience managing software engineering teams including hiring mentoring and performance management 5 years of experience in backend development with Node js 3 years of experience with GraphQL Experience with AWS Lambda S3 ECS RDS Infrastructure as Code Experience with Redis and PostgreSQL Strong communication and leadership skills with experience mentoring engineers Ability to work cross-functionally and drive team alignment with business goals Fluent in English Bonus Skills Experience with Terraform Knowledge of Kafka CI CD DynamoDB React js Elixir Rust Technical Environment Tech Stack TypeScript Node GraphQL PostgreSQL AWS services Development Practices TDD pair programming code reviews continuous integration and delivery CI CD Deployment Automated using Terraform Github Actions on AWS Technologies Used API portals API Gateway
