Responsibilities:
1. Assist lead teachers in planning and implementing engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum objectives and educational standards.
2. Support classroom management by helping to maintain a positive learning environment conducive to student success and well-being.
3. Provide one-on-one or small group instruction to students who require additional support or enrichment activities.
4. Participate in the assessment and evaluation of student progress through observation, grading, and feedback mechanisms.
5. Collaborate with colleagues to share ideas, resources, and best practices for effective teaching and learning.
6. Contribute to the creation of a safe, inclusive, and culturally responsive learning environment that respects diversity and promotes equity.
7. Engage in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills, pedagogical knowledge, and understanding of educational trends and research.
8. Assist with administrative tasks such as record-keeping, classroom organization, and communication with parents or guardians.
9. Actively participate in school events, meetings, and professional learning communities to foster a sense of community and collective responsibility for student success.
10. Embrace a growth mindset and demonstrate a willingness to reflect on practice, receive constructive feedback, and continually improve as an educator.
Qualifications:
1. Enrollment in or completion of a D.L.Ed, Early Childhood Education, or a related field.
2. Passion for working with young children and supporting their academic, social, and emotional development.
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, students, and families.
4. Flexibility, adaptability, and resilience in managing the dynamic nature of a classroom environment.
5. Commitment to upholding ethical standards, professionalism, and confidentiality in all interactions.
6. Knowledge of educational theories, instructional strategies, and assessment practices relevant to primary education.
7. Experience working or volunteering in educational settings, preferably with elementary school-aged students.
8. Compliance with background check requirements and any other regulatory or legal obligations for working with children.
