Key Responsibilities:
- Payroll Processing: Accurately calculate salaries, process payments, and manage deductions for employees.
- Tax Compliance: Ensure timely and correct calculation and payment of all federal, state, and local payroll-related taxes.
- Benefits Administration: Manage employee benefits programs, such as health insurance and 401(k) retirement plans, including enrollment, deduction processing, and claims handling.
- Record Keeping: Maintain meticulous payroll and benefits records, ensuring data accuracy and identifying any discrepancies.
- Employee Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for employees regarding their pay, deductions, benefits, and related queries.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date with complex and changing U.S. laws and regulations related to payroll and benefits, which can vary significantly by state.
- Reporting: Generate various reports on payroll expenses, taxes, and benefits data to aid in organizational decision-making.
- Auditing & Reconciliation: Conduct periodic audits and reconciliations of payroll and benefits data to ensure accuracy and integrity.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Human Resources and finance departments to ensure seamless operations and effective implementation of policies.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in processing payroll and benefits for US based employees
- Crucial for maintaining accurate records and performing complex calculations.
- A strong understanding of federal, state, and local payroll and benefits laws and regulations.
- Experience with payroll and HR software, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with employees, HR, and vendors.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to perform calculations, analyze financial data, and resolve discrepancies.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and maintain confidentiality.
- Knowledge of Laws: Solid understanding of payroll and benefits laws and regulations
- Confidentiality: Ability to handle sensitive employee information discreetly
- Able to occasionally attend evening meetings to communicate more effectively with US based employees
While not required, preference will be given to candidates with broader Human Resource Management experience
