We are seeking a passionate and innovative Subject Matter Expert (SME) in computer education to enhance the computer curriculum for primary-grade students. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and review curriculum content for K-12 technology courses, with a focus on primary grades, ensuring alignment with educational standards and the latest industry trends.
- Create projects, lesson plans, and assessments that effectively teach various technologies and tools.
- Collaborate with instructional designers and educators to develop interactive and engaging content that incorporates technologies related to block coding, animation, digital painting, image editing, productivity software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), graphic design, game development, app development, and multimedia design.
- Research curriculum standards and ensure alignment with current educational frameworks and benchmarks for primary grades.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and incorporate them into the curriculum where appropriate, focusing on new tools suitable for young learners.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of curriculum materials based on feedback from educators and students.
- Assist in training educators on the effective delivery of the curriculum and the use of technology in the classroom.
- Utilize data management tools, including advanced Excel, to analyze and manage curriculum data effectively.
Key Requirements:
Must-Have:
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, and digital tools suitable for primary-grade students, including productivity software and media tools.
- Experience in curriculum development related to basic computer skills, digital painting, graphics, animation, game development, etc.
- Experience with block-based coding with Scratch, App Inventor, or similar tools.
- Strong analytical and logical thinking skills, with the ability to break down complex concepts for young learners.
- Effective use of images and media to simplify content and make it more engaging.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Good to have:
- Familiarity or experience with Python, HTML/CSS/JavaScript is a plus, although not essential for primary grades.
- Familiarity with the concepts of Digital Citizenship and Cyber awareness.
- Understanding of educational frameworks and standards for K-12 education.
- A passion for teaching and inspiring students in the field of computer science.
- Patience and empathy in creating content for young learners to foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in education, computer science, or a related field.
- Prior experience in curriculum development or educational content creation is preferred.
- Experience in teaching or working with K-12 students is a plus.
