Goodscore Raises Series A - Super excited to share that we’ve just closed our Series A with Peak XV Partners 🎉 — a huge milestone for us at Goodscore Role Description We are looking for an experienced Team Lead – Backend to lead and scale our backend engineering team. In this role, you will drive technical design and implementation across multiple charters, mentor engineers, and ensure delivery of robust, high-performance systems that power our fintech platform. You will work closely with product, design, and data teams to architect backend solutions that are reliable, secure, and efficient. Key Responsibilities - Lead a team of backend engineers, driving design, development, and delivery of high-quality software. - Manage one or more backend charters independently end-to-end — from planning to deployment. - Provide hands-on technical guidance, code reviews, and mentorship to team members. - Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, frontend engineers, and data teams to deliver scalable and well-integrated solutions. - Define best practices for coding, testing, and performance optimization. - Contribute to system architecture discussions and long-term technical vision. - Ensure reliability, availability, and scalability of backend systems. Skills & Experience Required - 6–9 years of experience in backend development with strong exposure to distributed systems and API design. - Proven experience managing or leading a small to mid-sized engineering team. - Strong programming fundamentals with expertise in at least one backend language or framework. - Experience with Node.Js and/or Python is a plus (we are tech agnostic). - Sound understanding of databases (SQL/NoSQL), system design, and cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP). - Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive, ownership-driven mindset. - Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
