Job Description The opportunity As an Electrical Development Engineer specializing in Transformer Design at the Global Engineering Center in Vadodara, India, you'll be part of a dynamic team that values innovation, diversity, and collaboration. The Transformers Business Unit is leading the way in energy transformation, delivering advanced solutions across a wide range of industries. How You'll Make An Impact - You will deliver on electrical design and development of DTR/Dry type transformers. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define customized designs with high priority on safety design aspects and identification and control of hazards. - Design, analyze, and evaluate systems, products, or components, requiring a high degree of technical expertise. - Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize transformer design, manufacturing processes, and materials selection. - Support prototype designs, analyzing results, and recommending design modifications as necessary. - Support technology implementation and Design to Value (DTV) initiatives. - Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in transformer design and manufacturing. - incorporating new methodologies and best practices into our development processes. - Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines. - Living Hitachi Energy's core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business Your background - B.E / B. Tech Electrical Engineering. - Minimum of 7-12 years of experience in electrical design and development, with a focus on transformers in the power industry. - Understanding of Transformer Electrical Design, Thermal, Dielectrics, Short circuit and sound performance and transformer mechanics - Should have good understanding of IS/ IEC /IEEE Standards & Canadian Standards. - Proficiency in CAD software/ PTC Creo is preferred. - Experience with programming languages such as C++ or C is preferred. - Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. - Experience in Simulation or software development would be advantageous. - Experience on Microsoft office and tools. - Ability to speak with and work together with the technical teams in different parts of the world. - Demonstrated team building skills, would be a preference. - Proficiency in both spoken & written English & Hindi language is required Hitachi Energy is a global technology leader in electrification, powering a sustainable energy future through innovative power grid technologies with digital at the core.
