Job Overview:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Vessel Performance Engineer to join our team onsite. This role is ideal for a marine engineer who has sailed as a 3rd Engineer and possesses shore-based experience in technical or performance-related roles. In addition to performance monitoring and analysis, the role involves direct interaction with clients, ensuring technical clarity, issue resolution, and strong working relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

- Monitor and analyze vessel performance data, including fuel efficiency, speed profiles, engine health, and voyage trends
- Identify inefficiencies and propose actionable improvement strategies to enhance vessel operations
- Coordinate closely with technical managers/superintendents to investigate and resolve performance-related issues.
- Coordinate with SSH team for vessel status and way forward.
- Interface with clients (ship owners, managers, operators) to provide insights, reports, and support for performance-related queries
- Manage client expectations and ensure timely resolution of reported concerns or issues
- Prepare performance reports, dashboards, and regular updates tailored to client requirements
- Provide feedback to product or software development teams based on client use and data insights
- Assist in the implementation of energy efficiency and emission reduction initiatives
- Stay updated on IMO regulations (EEXI, CII, SEEMP) and support clients in compliance efforts
- Participate in vessel trials, audits, or inspections if required

Eligibility Criteria:

- Mandatory: Sailing experience as a 3rd Engineer (Marine Engineer Officer – Class IV COC)
- Shore experience: Minimum 1–2 years in a technical, operations, or vessel performance role
- Hands-on understanding of shipboard machinery and operational practices
- Strong communication skills with the ability to manage client interactions independently
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights
- Familiarity with vessel performance platforms and marine analytics tools is an advantage
- Working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and reporting tools
- Exposure to decarbonization and energy efficiency practices in maritime operations is a plus
