As a Senior Manager of Software Development, you will lead a talented engineering team to accelerate Oracle's AI transformation. You will drive the evolution of AI Studio and Data Management, aligning it with Oracle's strategic AI priorities. Your team will build and operate end-to-end model lifecycle capabilities - including data preparation, training, fine-tuning, and serving - powering both internal and customer-facing AI solutions across OCI. This is a high-visibility leadership role, offering the opportunity to shape Oracle's next-generation AI platform while collaborating with world-class engineers, architects, and product leaders across the company. Key Responsibilities - Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of 12-14 software engineers (IC4s and IC5s), fostering a culture of technical excellence, accountability, and innovation. - Define and drive the technical direction and execution strategy for AI Studio, Labeling and Data Management initiatives within OCI. - Architect and deliver scalable, secure, and reliable systems to support enterprise-grade AI and ML workloads. - Design and operate end-to-end model lifecycle services - including data preparation, training, fine-tuning, evaluation, and high-performance model serving. - Collaborate closely with science, product, research, and infrastructure teams to optimize AI workloads for performance, cost efficiency, and reliability. - Partner with cross-functional leaders across OCI and Oracle's product teams to integrate cutting-edge AI capabilities into core products and platforms. - Ensure strong security, observability, and operational excellence across all components of the AI platform. - Drive strategic architecture decisions and investments aligned with Oracle's long-term AI vision. - Set clear goals and expectations for performance, enabling team members to grow through coaching, feedback, and career development. - Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices to continuously enhance platform capabilities and innovation velocity. Basic Qualifications - 3+ years of experience managing software development teams in enterprise environments. - 7+ years of hands-on experience in application development, including 2+ years in large-scale distributed systems, web services, or cloud infrastructure. - Strong programming proficiency in Python and Java. - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field. Preferred Qualifications - Proven experience leading teams in cloud or AI/ML domains. - Deep technical expertise in cloud-native infrastructure, distributed systems, and machine learning platforms. - Demonstrated success delivering complex, high-scale systems to production. - Exceptional leadership, communication, and collaboration skills across organizational boundaries. - Passion for building products that empower developers, data scientists, and enterprises to leverage AI at scale.
