Cash Handling & Maintenance Receive payments in cash, cheque, UPI, or other modes and issue receipts accurately. Maintain adequate cash balance in the cash register throughout the day. Handle cash collections from various departments or counters. Ensure zero discrepancies in cash counting and transactions. 2. Day Book Writing & Record Maintenance Maintain the daily cash book by recording all incoming and outgoing cash transactions. Prepare accurate entries for sales, purchases, expenses, and payments. Reconcile daily cash balances with the records at the end of each day. Submit daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports to the accounts or finance department. 3. Cash Transfer & Deposits Handle inter-branch or inter-department cash transfers safely and efficiently. Deposit daily collections into the company’s bank accounts. Withdraw cash from banks for company operations as per requirements. Ensure proper documentation and approvals for all cash transfers. 4. Bank-Related Work Visit banks regularly for deposits, withdrawals, and other banking activities. Prepare cheques, demand drafts, and other financial instruments when required. Maintain updated records of bank transactions and reconciliations. Liaise with bank representatives for resolving transaction-related issues. 5. Financial Record-Keeping & Reporting Assist the accounts team in preparing financial summaries and statements. Maintain vouchers, receipts, and supporting documents for audits. Ensure proper filing of all financial records for easy reference. Support statutory compliance by providing accurate data to auditors and tax consultants. 6. Customer & Internal Coordination Provide customers with accurate information regarding payments and receipts. Coordinate with sales, accounts, and operations teams for financial updates. Handle payment-related queries and resolve discrepancies promptly.Skills & Competencies Required1. Technical & Accounting Skills Good understanding of cash handling, accounting principles, and bookkeeping. Knowledge of day book writing and reconciling cash records. Familiarity with basic banking processes and payment modes. 2. Numerical & Analytical Skills Strong mathematical skills to handle large sums of cash accurately. Ability to identify errors or mismatches in cash flow and records quickly. 3. Communication Skills Clear and polite communication with customers, team members, and bank officials. Ability to explain payment-related details confidently. 4. Integrity & Confidentiality High level of honesty, reliability, and trustworthiness when dealing with company funds. Ensure strict confidentiality regarding financial data and transactions. 5. Technical Knowledge Basic computer skills, including MS Excel, MS Word, and accounting software.
