Job Description

This role is for a Senior Backend Developer to join a fast-paced environment and build a world-class API service. The ideal candidate is a passionate problem-solver who wants to use technology to create a product that can reach millions of users. They will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying high-performance systems while adhering to the best software development practices.

Responsibilities

- Design and develop a world-class API service.
- Work with technologies like RoR, Node.js, Postgresql, MongoDB, Elastic Search, and Redis.
- Research and explore new technologies to improve the performance and scalability of software.
- Design, deploy, and improve proprietary algorithms.
- Use the best software development practices and standards, including testing, code reviews, and site monitoring.
- Take ownership of the product from ideation to iteration, with the goal of reaching millions of users.
- Contribute to a better India by building a product that addresses a complex nationwide operational problem.

Skills

Required Skills:

- Experience with backend MVC frameworks like Rails, Django, Node.js, or CodeIgniter.
- Experience in C/C++ or Java and one scripting language such as Python, Ruby, or Perl.
- Comfortable with the Linux operating system and Bash scripting.
- A strong understanding of RDBMS concepts and proficiency with features of popular databases like MySQL and Postgres.
- Love coding and a passion for taking ownership of work.
- An interest in participating in hackathons.

Preferred Skills:

- Prior experience in any NoSQL databases.

Qualifications

- A BE/BS/BTech in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
