Job Description Summary

This position provides mechanical engineering design leadership for modality components and subsystems. The position works to identify and execute strategic quality engineering efforts in addition to driving cross-functional engagement of quality project initiatives. This role requires the interaction with other service and design engineering teams in order to ensure the product quality goals set forth by the business.

Job Description

Roles & Responsibility

- Conduct and oversee investigations related to mechanical failures, performance issues, and design improvements.
- Perform troubleshooting for field and manufacturing issues, investigate to determine root causes, assessment of risk, and appropriate CAPA actions.
- Implement design changes that sustain existing products that are in the market
- Conduct experiments and diagnostic tests as required to draw conclusions
- Engaging in hardware lifecycle management, including solutions to obsolescence, verification of design solutions, improvement of manufacturing process, and cost out opportunities
- Conducting analysis of installed base and new product reliability using FMEA, DFR tools
- Experienced in quality engineering projects that provide imaginative solutions to engineering and customer issues
- Perform failure analysis of issues reported from field, NCs, trending etc. including autopsies of failed units whenever available.
- Document the detailed analysis using tools like fish bone, 5 WHYs, Reliability etc. and identify the root-cause of failures and propose solutions
- Perform design integration, verification, validation, FMEA, reliability, manufacturability, and serviceability analysis/ testing.
- Co-ordination of manufacturing releases - Change implementation.
- Perform detailed analysis and simulations of suspended mass systems to ensure stability, safety, and efficiency.

Education Qualifications

- Masters/ Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience

Required Qualification

- Degree in Mechanical Engineering and more than 5+ years relevant work experience
- Ability to design, execute, analysis experiments.
- Familiarity with mechanical 3D CAD tool ProE and Windchill
- Effective oral and written English communication skills which need global cooperation.

- Design for reliability experience. Design for manufacturing / Service / Cost experience
- Demonstrated project leadership, technical leadership and influencing skills
- Green Belt/Black Belt Certified
