To manage all cost-related aspects of civil engineering projects, ensuring accurate cost estimation, budget control, and financial management throughout the project lifecycle. The Quantity Surveyor will work closely with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and review detailed cost estimates for civil works including earthworks, concrete, roads, drainage, and structural elements. Develop Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and schedules based on drawings and specifications. Conduct feasibility studies and cost planning for new projects. Perform cost analysis, budgeting, and forecasting for civil projects. Evaluate subcontractor quotations and assist in contractor selection. Prepare tender and contract documentation, including BOQ, scope of work, and pricing schedules. Track and monitor project expenditures and provide regular cost reports. Manage change orders, variations, and contractual claims. Liaise with clients, engineers, contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure cost-effective project execution. Ensure compliance with project timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Assist in value engineering exercises to optimize costs without compromising quality. Provide commercial advice and risk management support. Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management. [3–8] years of experience in quantity surveying for civil engineering projects (roads, bridges, buildings, drainage, utilities, etc.). Working knowledge of standard methods of measurement (e.g., SMM, POMI). Familiarity with contract standards such as FIDIC or local government regulations. Experience in project cost control software (e.g., Candy, CostX) and MS Excel.
