Role Description The Chief Information Officer (CIO) is a key member of the executive leadership team at Universal Ai University, responsible for leading the institution's technology vision, digital transformation, and the strategic integration of artificial intelligence (AI) across academic and administrative functions. The CIO will champion innovation, ensure robust and secure IT infrastructure, and drive the university's mission to be at the forefront of AI technology-enabled education. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership & Digital Transformation - Develop and execute a comprehensive technology strategy aligned with the university's vision and long-term goals. - Lead digital transformation and AI initiatives to enhance teaching, learning, research, and administrative operations. - Advise the President and executive team on emerging technologies, digital trends, and AI opportunities. Technology & AI Implementation - Oversee the deployment and management of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, learning management systems (LMS), and AI-powered educational platforms. - Drive the adoption of AI-driven solutions for personalized learning, predictive analytics, and operational efficiency. - Foster collaboration between academic, research, and administrative units to maximize the impact of technology and AI initiatives. Data Governance & Security - Establish and enforce data governance policies, ensuring data privacy, security, and regulatory compliance. - Implement robust cybersecurity measures and risk management protocols to safeguard university assets and sensitive information. Innovation & Emerging Technologies - Identify and pilot innovative technologies such as virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and advanced analytics to enhance student and faculty experiences. - Support the integration of AI literacy and digital skills into the curriculum across disciplines. Operational Oversight - Supervise IT, information security, data management, and related technology staff. - Oversee technology budgets, procurement, and vendor management, ensuring cost-effective and scalable solutions. - Ensure the reliability, availability, and scalability of the university's technology infrastructure. Stakeholder Engagement - Serve as the primary liaison with technology vendors, regulators, and external partners. - Engage faculty, students, and staff to understand technology needs and drive user-centric solutions. - Present updates and strategic recommendations to the Board of Trustees and university leadership. Qualifications - Master's degree in IT, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field; advanced certifications or experience in AI/EdTech preferred. - Minimum of 10 years of progressive IT leadership experience in tech organisations. - Demonstrated expertise in digital transformation, AI implementation, and strategic technology planning. - Strong knowledge of data governance, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance in education. - Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills. - Experience managing large-scale technology projects and multidisciplinary teams.
