About the Role:

We are building an innovative AI-powered transaction classification engine that automates bookkeeping and accounting for startups and MSMEs, solving critical inefficiencies in financial workflows. As a Technical Co-Founder, you will lead the full technical vision and execution—from AI model development to product architecture and integration with accounting platforms. This is a unique opportunity to co-create a cutting-edge fintech product with significant market impact.

As a seasoned Chartered Accountant and CFA with deep expertise in financial strategy, compliance, and startup advisory, I bring domain leadership and early traction. Now, I'm looking for a passionate and visionary technical co-founder to join me in building and scaling this transformative solution.

Responsibilities

- Lead end-to-end technical strategy, architecture, and product development for AI-powered transaction classification and financial automation.
- Develop and refine AI/ML models for transaction ingestion, NLP-based payee identification, classification, smart matching, and data cleanup.
- Build scalable, secure, and modular backend systems integrated with popular accounting platforms (e.g., Zoho Books, Tally).
- Implement confidence-based automation, auditability, and learning mechanisms for continuous improvement.
- Collaborate closely with founders, product, and finance teams to align technology with business goals.
- Manage technical roadmap from MVP through full-scale launch and iterative product enhancements.
- Establish best practices in data security, compliance (SOC 2, GDPR), and cloud infrastructure.
- Recruit, mentor, and lead a growing engineering team as the company scales.
- Represent the technical vision to investors, partners, and stakeholders.

Required Skills & Experience:

- Proven expertise in AI/ML, particularly NLP, pattern recognition, and classification systems.
- Strong software engineering background with experience in backend development, APIs, cloud infrastructure, and data engineering.
- Experience building fintech, accounting, or financial SaaS products is highly desirable.
- Hands-on experience with scalable system design, security, and compliance standards.
- Startup mindset: self-driven, resilient, and comfortable with ambiguity and rapid iteration.
- Excellent communication skills to explain complex AI concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Prior experience as a technical lead, CTO, or co-founder in a startup is a strong plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience with integration of AI models into production environments.
- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Understanding of payroll, financial planning, or bookkeeping software ecosystems.

Compensation & Equity

- Salary Pre-Funding - Negotiable
- Salary Post-Funding - Market competitive CTO salary
- Equity - Negotiable based on experience, commitment and contribution to MVP.
