JR68377 Senior Engineer- Network Observability
We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Engineer- Network Observability to join our Enterprise Monitoring Solutions team. As a crucial member of our IT department, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our network monitoring tools to ensure the stability, performance, and security of our network infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitoring Tools Implementation and Architecture: Evaluate, recommend, and implement enterprise monitoring tools tailored to Micron's infrastructure and business needs.
Architect monitoring solutions for comprehensive transparency into critical systems performance
Optimize the use of AIOPS and implement best practices for noise reduction, alert correlation, and other relevant aspects.
- Configure and Administer Network Monitoring Tools:
Implement and manage network observability solutions to gather comprehensive insights into network performance, security, and user experience, enabling proactive identification and resolution of issues.
Utilize expertise in network monitoring tools such as OpsRamp, NetBrain, Cisco DNAC, Cisco Thousand Eyes, or Microfocus NNMi /SolarWinds Network monitoring modules.
Develop custom monitoring dashboards and alerts tailored to specific network metrics and business requirements.
Provide 24x7 on-call technical support and expertise for customer issues and service provider escalation.
- Accurate Network Topology and Service Maps:
Leverage deep knowledge to create and maintain precise network topology and service maps.
Implement automated network device backup procedures for rapid recovery.
- SNMP Traps and Polling Management:
Implement and manage SNMP traps and polling configurations.
Efficiently monitor network components to proactively address issues.
- Root Cause Analysis and Recommendations:
Analyze network performance metrics to identify bottlenecks and latency issues.
Provide actionable recommendations for resolution.
- Collaboration and Continuous Improvement:
Collaborate with global network engineers and stakeholders.
Implement changes and improvements based on monitoring data.
- Adherence to ITIL Standards:
Follow ITIL standards for incident, change, and problem management to ensure efficient network operations.
- Performance Reporting and Trends:
Generate network performance reports to highlight key metrics and trends for informed decision-making.
Stay Current with Industry Trends: Keep abreast of emerging technologies in network monitoring to enhance capabilities.
- Training and Support:
Provide training and support to team members on network monitoring tools and processes.
- Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
7+ years of experience in network administration and monitoring.
Strong understanding of network topology, service maps, and protocols.
Proficiency in SNMP traps and polling configuration.
Strong Experience with Enterprise network monitoring tools.
Knowledge of Automation efforts using Python/Shell Scripting.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
