Position Summary As a senior buyer focusing majorly on plastic steel raw materials understand the user needs to source high quality suppliers to fulfil commodity and engineering requirements The supplier assessment includes support of supplier plant audit and price benchmarking to make sure the source suppliers are capable suppliers Manage and supervise the commodity to achieve annual cost savings objectives including Lead Time reduction cost saving payment extension material inflation control supplier consolidation sourcing localization MOQ preferred supplier selection etc Key Responsibilities Manage the material enquiry from centre of excellence and business unit engineer work with supplier quality engineer and supplier for material specification alignment Conduct supply market research and data analysis Monitoring the development of part as per the timeline make sure suppliers deliver on time Heavily involved in the Early supplier involvement meeting and Quick Quote for user urgent cases Assist in the implementation of commodity strategy to achieve company goals and targets Conduct negotiations with suppliers focusing on conditions and terms of purchase contracts Coordinate with SQE SDE in auditing the vendor approval Support the process of sourcing by identifying the alternate equivalent raw materials import substitution with sufficient data supporting the change Requirements Q Required Skills Understand to read materials specification and component drawings Communication and Human Relations skills with internal colleagues in Engineering Quality Production external suppliers Good knowledge in supplier base location Major in Engineering is preferred Knowledge and experiences in Plastic RM is desired Familiarity conversant in regional languages will be an added advantage Familiar with ERP system and office softwares esp good at Excel and PPT
