Job Summary: A Signage Installation Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of various types of signage at client locations. This includes LED signage, ACP panels, acrylic signs, flex boards, vinyl graphics, and 3D channel letters. The technician is expected to carry out accurate site measurements, interpret design layouts or technical drawings, and ensure precise and secure signage installation in indoor and outdoor environments. This role demands a blend of technical skills, physical fitness, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely and efficiently on-site. It also requires teamwork, punctuality, and professionalism when dealing with clients.Key Responsibilities:1. Signage Installation: Install a wide range of signage types including: LED signs Acrylic letters ACP (Aluminum Composite Panel) cladding Flex and vinyl banners 3D channel letters (illuminated and non-illuminated) Neon and backlit signs Securely fix signs to various surfaces like concrete walls, glass, metal, or wood using appropriate tools and fasteners. Ensure all installations are level, correctly positioned, and safely mounted. 2. Site Measurements and Planning: Conduct site visits to take accurate measurements before fabrication. Interpret and understand design drawings, layouts, and installation plans. Identify site-specific requirements such as electrical connections, structural integrity, and environmental conditions. 3. Electrical and Lighting Connections (for LED Signs): Handle basic electrical wiring and connections for LED modules and power supplies. Ensure safe and compliant electrical installations according to safety standards. Troubleshoot lighting issues during or after installation. 4. Material Handling and Assembly: Assemble signage components (frames, panels, letters) as per design specifications before on-site delivery. Handle materials carefully to prevent scratches, damage, or deformation. Load, transport, and unload signage components safely and efficiently. 5. Tool Usage and Maintenance: Operate power tools and hand tools including drills, grinders, cutting machines, screwdrivers, and welding equipment (if applicable). Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition. Follow safety guidelines when using ladders, scaffolding, boom lifts, or harnesses. 6. Coordination and Client Interaction: Coordinate with the design, fabrication, and project management teams to ensure timely and correct installations. Communicate professionally with clients on-site to understand requirements and provide updates. Report installation progress, issues, or delays to the supervisor or project coordinator. 7. Site Safety and Clean-up: Follow safety protocols including wearing PPE (helmet, gloves, harness, etc.). Ensure work areas are kept tidy during and after installation. Dispose of leftover materials, packaging, and debris appropriately.Skills and Competencies:1. Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of signage materials and installation techniques. Familiarity with mounting surfaces, adhesives, fasteners, and structural supports. Ability to read basic engineering or design drawings. 2. Measurement and Accuracy: Proficient in using measuring tapes, laser levels, and rulers. Attention to detail in alignment, spacing, and finishing. Ability to connect drivers, power supplies, and troubleshoot lighting issues. 4. Problem-Solving and Flexibility: Ability to think on your feet and adapt installation methods based on site conditions. Troubleshooting issues such as misalignments, power failure, or fitting challenges. 5. Physical Fitness and Safety Awareness: Capable of lifting heavy materials and working at heights or in outdoor environments.
