Position Sr Buyer Buyer - Direct Purchase Dy Asst Manager Department Procurement Location Bengaluru Reports to Head Direct Purchase Reported by - Job Overview As Sr Buyer Buyer - Direct Purchase the incumbent will Responsible for all direct materials like Chemical material - cathode anode electrolyte separator carbon black and so Structural parts - Housing cap and can cooling plate brackets etc Electrical Electronics parts - BMS BDU High voltage harness etc Responsible for sourcing business negotiation and contract etc Responsible for second sourcing sample sourcing and cost reduction projects Responsible for project purchasing management project cost and design change cost etc Be taking ownership of the purchasing policy guidelines and any associated documents necessary for procurement Main Responsibilities Plan the supplier platform strategy for each material Organize and manage the sourcing of potential suppliers Electrochemical materials chip market sweeps development of mineral resources etc Responsible for annual price negotiation and procurement cost reduction Responsible for negotiation of supplier claims Continuously optimize procurement-related processes Planning and leading the development of the second supplier Develops implements cost reduction plans through strategic sourcing to gain overall cost advantage without compromising with the Quality Standards and Targets Reduce purchase costs and ensure purchase quality through introduction of supplier price comparison analysis business negotiation etc Ensures development and maintenance of strong relationships with suppliers leading to lower negotiated prices better service levels continuous quality improvements longer term contract increased profitability and a mutually beneficial long-term relationship Hands on experience in dealing foreign suppliers specially supplier based in China Familiar with import taxation and custom clearance formalities Guide Mentor team to meet targets using various tools like Benchmarking Exploring New Technologies and Raw Material resources Negotiation Alternate Sourcing VAVE Value chain optimization Meeting Time Cost Targets and ensure supply Key Internal Interfaces Key External Interfaces R D For second source development Operation to coordinate with order delivery team for issues during supplier PO placement order shipment monitoring Supplier quality for working with SQE to coordinate on supplier products development quality issue feedback to suppliers Finance For all Cost Budget related issues Suppliers India Global DESIRED PROFILE Education Experience Bachelor s Degree - Mechanical Electrical Chemical Automobile Electronics Information Communication Instrumentation and IT Materials Management Degree 5 to 10 years of experience in the New Energy Industry or Automotive Industry Minimum 5 years of experience of Direct Purchasing preferably in Electrochemistry DESIRED SKILLS Functional Behavioral Understand the distribution of domestic lithium nickel cobalt and other metal materials related to batteries Proficient in the basic knowledge of the overall concept machine of battery structure Proficient in business etiquette supply chain management contract management and other related knowledge and processes Have excellent business negotiation skills negotiation skills cost analysis accounting skills Have keen industry observation ability excellent industry information collection induction and analysis ability able to formulate relevant analysis reports based on industry dynamics and provide relevant opinions to the company Excellent resource coordination planning and process control capabilities Proficient in procurement process and business knowledge Familiar with relevant management regulations of contract law Proficient in common software Excellent interpersonal communication logical analysis negotiation decision-making Proficient in business etiquette supply chain management contract management and other related knowledge and processes Excellence in resource coordination planning and process control
