The Opportunity We're seeking a Technical Product Manager to join our product team in Pune and help shape the future of API and AI security. What You'll Do • Own product features end-to-end: From technical specifications and requirements gathering through development, testing, and launch for our API security platform • Deep technical collaboration: Work closely with engineering teams on bot detection algorithms, threat intelligence, API discovery, and sensitive data protection capabilities • Customer-driven innovation: Translate customer pain points and security requirements into actionable product features, working with sales engineering and support teams • Competitive intelligence: Analyze bot management and API security landscapes, understanding threat vectors and competitive positioning • Documentation and enablement: Create technical documentation, test plans, and enablement materials for internal teams and customers • Data-driven decisions: Analyze product metrics, security telemetry, and customer feedback to prioritize roadmap items • Cross-functional leadership: Drive initiatives across engineering, sales, support, and customer success—taking ownership without needing to be asked What We're Looking For Must-Have Experience: • Bot security/management exposure: Direct experience with bot detection, bot mitigation, CAPTCHA systems, device fingerprinting, behavioral analysis, or similar anti-automation technologies • Threat detection/mitigation: Understanding of security threats, attack patterns, fraud prevention, abuse detection, or cybersecurity fundamentals • Technical depth: Strong technical background (product management, software development, QA/automation, security engineering, sales engineering, or technical support) with willingness to dive deep into logs, APIs, regex patterns, and system architecture • Startup mentality: Comfortable with ambiguity, able to work independently, and eager to take initiative in a fast-paced environment • Collaboration skills: High IQ, low ego—able to work effectively with diverse teams and build consensus without friction Nice-to-Have Experience: • Agentic AI experience: Hands-on experience leveraging AI agents like Claude, OpenAI, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or other agentic AI tools for productivity, development, or automation workflows • API security, web application security, or cloud security knowledge • Experience with OWASP Top 10, API security standards, or compliance frameworks (PCI DSS, GDPR, CCPA) • Familiarity with regex patterns, data classification, or sensitive data detection • Understanding of machine learning/AI concepts applied to security • Product management experience in cybersecurity or B2B SaaS • Experience with Jira, Confluence, or agile development methodologies • Background in WAF (Web Application Firewall), CDN, API gateways, or similar infrastructure Backgrounds We Value: • Technical product managers ready for a deep-dive security challenge • Software developers who understand user problems • QA/automation engineers who've seen products from all angles • Sales engineers who've translated customer needs into solutions • Security/support engineers who've debugged complex production issues • Anyone with 2-10 years of experience in technical roles who's ready to shape products Why Join Cequence? • Domain: Work on cutting-edge API and AI security problems that directly impact Fortune 500 companies • Equity: Significant stock options with real upside potential as we grow • Impact: Your work will directly influence product direction and customer security posture • Growth: We invest in your development as the company scales, whether you're an experienced PM or making your first transition • Team: Work with passionate, collaborative engineers and security experts • Innovation: Shape products addressing emerging threats in bot management, API abuse, and AI security Location Pune, India (Office-based) To Apply Please submit your resume along with a brief note about: • Your most interesting encounter with bots, automation, or API security challenges • Why you're excited about this role and what you'd bring to Cequence Cequence Security is an equal opportunity employer.
