Responsibilities: - Design, architect, administer, and manage large database systems, particularly on Microsoft platforms such as SQL Server and Azure Database. - Develop and optimize complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and analysis. - Implement new databases, data warehouses, data pipelines, and ETL processes for various systems. Specifically Azure Data Factory. - Develop and maintain data structures to support business needs. - Collaborate with IT and business teams to understand data requirements and provide solutions. - Ensure data integrity, security, and performance optimization of database systems. - Create and maintain documentation for database architecture, data flows, and processes. - Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies in data engineering. - Provide strategic planning for the implementation of new systems and enhancements. - Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues promptly. - Work closely with stakeholders to ensure data solutions aligning with business objectives and technology roadmap. Qualifications: - Minimum of 7 years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on implementing data structures and administering large databases. - Extensive experience with Microsoft SQL Server and Azure Database. - Strong expertise in database design, architecture, administration, and management. - Hands-on experience in implementing data warehouses, data pipelines, and ETL processes. - Background in the retail industry is highly preferred. - Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. - Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Proactive, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities. - Experience in strategic planning and project management.
