Anesthesia Coder

Experience Required: 3+ Years

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Anesthesia Coder with a
minimum of 3 years of experience in medical coding, specifically focused on
anesthesia services. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of CPT,
ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS coding systems, and be familiar with compliance and
documentation guidelines related to anesthesia billing.

Key Responsibilities:
 Review and analyze anesthesia medical records and operative reports to
assign appropriate CPT, ICD-10-CM, and ASA codes.
 Ensure coding accuracy and compliance with federal regulations and
insurance guidelines.
 Stay updated with current coding regulations, payer policies, and
anesthesia-specific coding changes.
 Utilize electronic medical records (EMR) and coding software efficiently to
ensure timely billing.
 Perform audits and quality checks to maintain a high standard of coding
accuracy and reduce claim denials.
 Support training or mentoring of junior coders as needed.

Qualifications:
 Minimum 3 years of experience in anesthesia coding.
 Certification required: CPC, COC, CIC, or CRC (AAPC) or CCS-P/CCS
(AHIMA).
 Strong understanding of ASA coding guidelines and anesthesia modifiers.
 Experience with EMR and medical billing software (e.g., Epic, Cerner,
Athena, etc.).
 Strong communication skills to interact with providers and support
teams.
