Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to lead our Master Data Operations. The Head of Master Data Operations will be responsible for overseeing the creation, maintenance, and usage of master data across various business units. This leadership role will involve managing a large team of approximately 150 employees, focusing on people management, team development, and ensuring operational excellence. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of data management principles, strong leadership capabilities, and the ability to drive data quality and integrity initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Strategy

- Develop and implement the strategic vision for Master Data Operations to align with overall business goals.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 150 data management professionals.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure master data operations support business needs and objectives.

People Management

- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and training of new team members.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, offering constructive feedback for continuous improvement.
- Develop and implement professional development programs for staff growth.
- Foster a positive, collaborative team culture to drive engagement and productivity.
- Address employee concerns and resolve conflicts in an effective and timely manner.

Data Quality and Integrity

- Drive initiatives to enhance data quality, consistency, and accuracy across all master data processes.
- Implement data validation and cleansing processes to ensure high-quality data.
- Monitor and report on data quality metrics and take corrective actions as needed.
- Manage the master data lifecycle, ensuring efficient processes for data creation, modification, and deactivation.

Stakeholder Engagement

- Collaborate with business units, IT, and other stakeholders to understand data needs and requirements.
- Act as the liaison between business users and technical teams, ensuring seamless communication.
- Provide training and support to data stewards and users to promote data management best practices.

Reporting and Analytics

- Develop and deliver regular reports on data quality and operational activities.
- Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis to support data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Data Science, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- 10+ years of experience in data management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of managing large teams and driving improvements in data quality and operational efficiency.
- Strong understanding of data management principles, the data lifecycle, and data quality best practices.
- Experience with data management tools and technologies (e.g., MDM, data quality tools).
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications

- Certification in data management (e.g., DAMA, CDMP).
- Experience in a similar industry or domain.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to data management (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
