We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Head of Regulatory Reporting Business: Asset Management Role Purpose: - Within HSBC Global Asset Management, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled professional to support the establishment and management of Regulatory Reporting in India, while collaborating with GNM teams and international offices. - Reporting to the Global Head of Regulatory Reporting, you will assist in business partnering and addressing the business needs. Regulatory Reporting is a department within Shared Services responsible for submitting various regulatory and shareholding reports as required by law and financial regulations. - The team in India focus on reporting obligations like EMIR, PRIIPS, POTAM, and MIFID Transaction and Trade reporting. - This role involves supporting the organization, technology, and the Global Regulatory Reporting Team. You will assist in ensuring that the organization meets its regulatory obligations with accuracy and quality, adhering to regulatory deadlines. - This position also offers the chance to contribute to strategic programs within the wider Asset Management Operations Group. You will help understand the data used for Regulatory Reporting, provide insights and analysis for stakeholders, and act as a data subject matter expert on change initiatives and advanced analytics. Governance and Committee Memberships: - Paultiple RMM, Risk meeting, MANCO, EXCO meetings. Principal responsibilities: Impact on the Business/Function: - Drive Transformational Change: Continue supporting the globalization of the function across the Global Network Markets, including the UK, France, Germany, Hong Kong, and the US. - Lead Target Operating Model Design: Assist in the design, syndication, and execution of the target operating model and strategic roadmap for regulatory reporting globally. - Support Global Team Management: Aid in overseeing global team management and development, including appraisals, staff development, recruitment, performance, and career development aspects. - Ensure Risk and Control Accountability: Help maintain accountability for the risk and control environment, ensuring analysis and output meet expected quality and operate effectively and efficiently. - Collaborate for Compliance: Work closely with Compliance, Risk, CCO, Legal, and other teams to ensure ongoing compliance with regulations and understanding of future regulatory changes. - Stay Updated on Regulatory Requirements: Ensure the function remains current with all new regulatory requirements and internal initiatives and directives. - Act as a Data Expert: Serve as a data subject matter expert on Change Initiatives, identifying correct data attributes, working with stakeholders across the Group, and implementing relevant controls to manage data. - Monitor Data Quality: Implement processes to monitor data quality, including issue management, resolution, and feedback to Business Unit teams. - Support Enterprise Data Management Framework: Assist in the operation and evolution of the Enterprise Data Management framework, collaborating with the AMG Data Management team and the Regulatory Reporting and Platforms team. - Share Knowledge on Data: Work with the Regulatory Reporting and Platforms reporting function to share knowledge on data. - Assess Regulatory Changes: Keep abreast of upcoming regulatory changes and developments, assessing their impact on Change Initiatives and data sourcing. - Coordinate Vendor Processes: Support and coordinate vendor processes and methods to approve vendors. - Evaluate Vendor Performance: Track, measure, report, and evaluate vendor performance. - Collaborate with IT Areas: Work with IT areas to ensure vendor partners effectively manage contracts and leverage them completely. - Provide Industry Insight: Offer industry insight and analysis to Asset Management. Customers / Stakeholders: - Engages Across Functions and Geographies: Collaborate with senior levels of the organization across functions and geographies to support change and enhance commercial effectiveness and pragmatism in vendor selection and use. - Serves as a Regulatory Reporting Expert: Act as a subject matter expert in regulatory reporting, providing consultation on commercial aspects and business architecture and design. - Strengthens Stakeholder Relationships: Utilize relationship management skills and tools to responsibly influence decisions and advocate for stakeholders. - Manages Vendor Engagement: Effectively manage senior-level engagement with vendors to ensure alignment and collaboration. - Collaborates with Business & Operational Risk Teams: Work closely with business and operational risk teams to ensure comprehensive risk management and compliance. Operational Effectiveness & Control: - Develops Vendor Management Standards:Assist in creating a well-defined approach to instill a vendor management mindset and standards within the organization, supporting the establishment of key commercial objectives. - Promotes Efficient Solutions:Work collaboratively to ensure the most efficient solutions by removing knowledge barriers across teams and vendors, helping to avoid duplicative suppliers. - Exhibits Financial Acumen:Support the development and management of detailed business cases for change, negotiations, and benefits, linking them to the overall finances of the business. - Provides Accurate and Timely Information:Ensure the provision of accurate and timely information regarding current spending, plans, and objectives. - Delivers Proactive Reports:Provide proactive and timely reports on risks and issues, aiding in informed decision-making. Leadership & Teamwork: - Fosters Collaboration and Teamwork:Act as a role model by encouraging collaboration and teamwork within the India-based team and with colleagues in other regions. - Promotes HSBC's Values and Strategy:Cultivate a positive work environment by promoting the Group's values and strategy, enhancing team engagement and cooperation. - Defines Responsibilities and Objectives:Assist in outlining responsibilities and objectives for the team, ensuring clarity and alignment with broader goals. - Provides Support and Training:Offer support and training to the Asset Management firm by delivering clear and engaging input on processes and approaches for regulatory reporting, with a focus on global collaboration. Role Context: - Global Operational Responsibility: This role encompasses global operations, overseeing the delivery of regulatory reporting both within the center of excellence and through reporting teams located in local offices. Management Risk: - Exhibits Leadership in Regulatory and Compliance Matters:Support leadership in regulatory and compliance issues by maintaining awareness of risks. Assist in minimizing risk occurrence through effective identification, assessment, mitigation, and control strategies. Observation of Internal Controls: - Adheres to Internal Controls and Compliance Policies: You will be expected to follow internal controls and implement the Group compliance policy by adhering to all relevant processes and procedures. - Ensures Comprehensive Compliance: Compliance encompasses all relevant financial services laws, rules, and codes that the business must follow. This will be achieved by adhering to all relevant procedures, maintaining appropriate records, and, where necessary, implementing internal and external audit points in a timely manner, including addressing issues raised by external regulators. Requirements - Over 10 years of Prior senior management in operational team's essential experience leading and managing teams across multiple geographies is essential. - With 10+ years of experience running operational controls and managing operational risk is essential. - Proven experience in Data, Valuation and/or Risk and meeting Regulatory requirements, knowledge of regulations pertaining to financial institutions, particularly Asset Management. - Strong track record of change delivery and process improvement - capable of adapting their vision and approach to ensure delivery. - Proven strategic thinker and thought leader with subject matter expertise - demonstrates an understanding of market trends and innovations. - Experience working in a diverse and constantly changing technical and business environment. - Confident to challenge the norms, breaking down legacy and out of date practices. - Excellent written and oral communications skills - a persuasive communicator able to work well with a diverse set of internal stakeholders. - Strong relationship management skills. - Positive attitude: Can do approach and willing to give everything a go.
