Head Designer, Men's Apparel & Leather Goods About TZÁR TZÁR is a contemporary Indian lifestyle brand committed to intelligent design, timeless aesthetics, and superior quality in menswear. We seek a visionary leader to drive the creative direction for our textile apparel and signature leather goods collections. Location Indore, Madhya Pradesh (Full-Time, On-site) The Role: We are looking for an experienced and highly creative Head Designer to lead the entire design process for our Men's Textile Apparel and Leather Goods (bags, small accessories) divisions. The ideal candidate will possess a sophisticated understanding of luxury menswear, technical knowledge of textiles and leather craftsmanship, and the ability to translate brand DNA into commercially successful and critically acclaimed collections. Key Responsibilities: Creative Leadership & Strategy * Define and lead the seasonal creative direction, mood boards, and color palettes for both Men's Apparel and Leather Goods collections, ensuring alignment with the TZÁR brand vision. * Conduct in-depth market research on emerging trends, fabric innovations, and luxury consumer behavior to inform design strategy. * Collaborate closely with the Founder & the CEO to set the long-term design philosophy for the brand. Apparel Design & Development (Textile) * Design and develop complete ready-to-wear collections, including shirting, trousers, outerwear, and knits, with a focus on sophisticated tailoring and modern fit. * Oversee the selection and sourcing of high-quality fabrics, trims, and hardware. * Direct the technical design team on pattern making, fittings, and construction details to ensure design integrity and manufacturing feasibility. Leather Goods Design & Expertise * Conceptualize and design the full range of leather bags and accessories (e.g., briefcases, duffels, wallets, belts), prioritizing functionality, form, and material integrity. * Demonstrate deep technical knowledge of various leather types (full-grain, top-grain, etc.), finishing techniques, and construction methods specific to luxury bags. * Work directly with artisans and production units to oversee prototyping and ensure the highest standards of leather craftsmanship are met. Team Management & Operations: * Manage, mentor, and inspire a team of junior designers and technical staff. * Manage the design calendar to ensure timely delivery of samples, collections, and final products. * Collaborate with the Merchandising, Production, and Marketing teams to ensure collections meet target costs, production deadlines, and marketing goals. Required Qualifications: * Experience: Minimum of 3+ years of professional experience in fashion design. Experience must include a proven track record in both Men's Apparel/Tailoring and Luxury Leather Goods. * Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Technology, or a related field. * Technical Skills: Expert proficiency in design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop). Strong hand-sketching ability. Deep understanding of garment construction, pattern making, and leather goods engineering. * Aesthetic: Impeccable taste and a sophisticated understanding of contemporary luxury menswear and minimalist design principles. * Location: Willingness to relocate to and work full-time from our office in Indore.
