About the Position

We are seeking a **Senior Python Developer** with a strong focus on backend development. This role requires working from our office in Pune 2-3 days a week, so only candidates currently based in Pune should apply.

At Viridium.AI, we expect all engineers to evolve into full-stack contributors. You will start with your Python expertise and gradually expand to other technologies in our dev stack as needed.

**Important Note:** This is a senior-level position requiring **5+ years of professional experience** in development. Candidates with less experience will not be considered. We value self-learners who are independent, proficient in coding, and well-versed in enterprise best practices such as scalable architecture, security, and agile methodologies.

What You Will Do

Depending on your skill set, you may contribute across the stack, but the primary focus will be on backend development:

- **Backend Development:** Design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient backend services using Python (with frameworks like Flask or FastAPI).

- **Database Management:** Work with PostgreSQL to ensure efficient data storage, retrieval, and optimization.

- **API Integration:** Integrate and work with RESTful APIs to enhance application functionality and data management.

- **LLM Integration:** Collaborate on AI agentic development by integrating multiple Large Language Models (LLMs).

How You Will Do It

- **Collaboration:** Work closely with developers, product managers, and designers to deliver high-quality applications.

- **Code Quality:** Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code while adhering to coding standards and enterprise best practices.

- **Debugging:** Troubleshoot and debug complex issues across systems and environments.

- **Continuous Learning:** Stay updated with the latest technologies, tools, and best practices in Python and backend development.

- **Documentation:** Maintain detailed documentation for development processes and API integrations to ensure transparency and ease of understanding.

What You Will Bring

- **Experience:** Minimum 5 years of professional backend development experience, with deep expertise in Python.

- **Backend Technologies:** Strong skills in RESTful APIs, microservices, and backend development best practices.

- **API Integration:** Hands-on experience with RESTful APIs for seamless communication between components.

- **Testing:** Familiarity with testing methodologies and tools for unit testing and validation.

- **Performance Optimization:** Experience in identifying and resolving performance issues to ensure scalability and efficiency.

- **Agile Methodology:** Proven experience working in Agile environments using tools like Jira.

- **Collaboration:** Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.

- **Soft Skills:** Demonstrated ability to self-learn, work independently, and apply enterprise practices in coding and project management.

**Experience Level:** 5+ years (applications with less will not be considered).

What Will Make You Stand Out

- Proven ability to optimize backend performance and implement security best practices.

- Experience with microservices architecture and cloud-based solutions (e.g., Azure).

- Strong debugging skills and familiarity with modern backend development tools.

- Ability to mentor and guide junior developers in following best practices.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor&aposs degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
