Lead Designer

JOB SUMMARY: The Lead Designer impacts projects across medium as the visual thinker with well-rounded background in digital, print, packaging, video and typography. The Lead Designer is able to create a range of work spanning ideation through delivery while working closely with Creative Director, and Strategy counterparts to fulfill and exceed client needs. The design capability sets the tone and guidelines for how work should look and feel. JOB DESCRIPTION: - Works across a range of projects in branding, online video, packaging, merchandise, and general graphic design. - Should be highly creative individual with an deep knowledge of design and range of experience across branding, design for motion, and marketing. - S/he will be part of our busy creative studio providing day-to-day senior creative delivery across concept creation and design development through to implementation. - As one of the more senior creative members of the team S/he will be expected to make a positive contribution to the creative culture of our business demonstrating ambition and appetite to develop his/her creative skills and the ability to lead by example. - S/he will take ownership of creative challenges from brief to delivery including presenting creative work to clients and developing client relationships. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: - Works with a cross-functional teams, business leaders, and designers to solve problems big and small, through thorough elegant illustrations and masterful designs. - Understanding the communication challenge and the commercial and strategic objectives of a client - Embodies the style and design philosophy of the agency, and own the brand aesthetic, style, and path forward. - Leads the design for large projects – like website, social presence, and advertising initiatives – while placing a strong emphasis on innovation and best in class design work. - Pushes the boundaries of the design craft through relentless ideation and prototyping. - Generating impactful creative solutions built on solid strategic foundations clearly linked to solving a client challenge with an ability to sell ideas with energy and conviction to that client. - Generating a breadth of high-quality thinking that provides our business with fresh ideas and reference - Demonstrating an ability to positively interact with the rest of the business to help lead us to the best for our clients. - Taking responsibility for a creative challenge and being self-sufficient with direction from a Creative Lead or Design Director. - Owning and leading projects and giving direction to more junior members of the team. - Thinking ahead and guiding the team on how a creative idea will be delivered. - Clearly articulating your creative thinking, building confidence in structuring, and presenting ideas to clients, and responding to challenges and feedback. - Understanding the company’s quality management and file management systems and employing a methodical approach to archive management and file organization. - Liaising with our Creative Services Manager and client service team to ensure effective allocation of creative resources to fulfill projects in the most effective and efficient way. - Providing support to the creative team, helping to support more senior team members and ‘buddy’ the mid-weight and junior level. PROFILE REQUIREMENTS: - 6-8 years of work experience. - Should have Branding, Packaging, Digital, Environment Graphics led experience. - Experience in handling full project lifecycles - Adept at software skills - illustrator, photoshop, InDesign, motion graphics - Collaborative and supportive with the potential to lead - a team player that will contribute to the success of Conran Design Group by sharing knowledge and lending a hand to others when needed PREFERRED SKILLS: - Illustration and typography skills preferred - Knowledge of print and digital - Ideation, articulation, and presentation skills About Havas Founded in 1835 in Paris, Havas is one of the world’s largest global communications networks, with more than 22,000 people in over 100 countries sharing one single mission: to make a meaningful difference to brands, businesses, and people.
