Analyst MBD & Durability

Department : Vehicle Analysis (BP49233)

Mission:

This role is to carry out MBD and support durability simulation in the product development phase with in UDTT. As an MBD and durability Engineer at UDTT, you will have the opportunity to solve real world engineering problems of the CAB, suspension level and complete vehicle level.

Responsibilities:

Perform Kinematic Study and support Durability simulations of CAB and Chassis systems.

Create MBD model from scratch to subsystem and full vehicle level

Perform K&C analysis at system and complete vehicle level using MBD tools

Road generation from available test tracks and physical test scenarios and load extraction

Perform cab level modelling and analysis to simulate the kinematics and to extract the load at attachment points

Experience in analysis, fatigue life calculation and post processing of Full vehicle / CAB BIW / Chassis / System level results.

Perform Slam Analysis, Vehicle Tilt Mechanism, Engine mounts and CAB mounts simulation

Identify root cause analysis and to provide engineering solution to improve the design

Responsible for presenting results and major concerns, suggesting improvements to the design and creation of technical report.

Perform DOE and Optimization studies to improve the design

Continually strive to develop the tools/methods required to improve CAE capabilities.

Theoretical knowledge of strength of material and finite element analysis. Good communication, report writing, technical documentation and presentation skills.

Ability to convert real-time problems into engineering problems and provide counter measures to enhance the performance

Display high level of confidence in simulation results by adopting best practices, appropriate assumptions, and required simplifications. Also, suggest recommendations to solve issues.

Requirements:

ME/M Tech in Mechanical Engineering with 6-8 years of experience focusing on multibody simulation mechanisms and vehicle dynamics.

Strong knowledge in vehicle dynamics and multibody simulation.

Proficient in CAE Tools like MSC ADAMS View, Car, Flex, & Insight / Altair Motion Solve.

Ability to think independently and being pro-active to drive the product design

Ability to perform Multi-disciplinary CAE activities involving Durability is added advantage

Perform correlation between test and CAE

Continually strive to develop the tools/methods required to improve CAE capabilities

Analytical ability to provide design direction based on physical test and CAE results

Able to learn and use nCode Design Life, ANSA, MetaPost, OptiStruct and Altair products

Fatigue life estimation for Vehicle structure, Spot and seam welds

Key Skills Required

Extensive and demonstrable experience in the field of durability at an established OEM.

Thorough understanding of finite element analysis. MUST have hands-on experience with solvers such as ABAQUS, NASTRAN and OPTISTRUCT. Pre- and post-processing tools like ANSA, META, HYPERMESH and HYPERVIEW.

Demonstrates high levels of personal motivation to join a start-up organization and sees development opportunity in doing so, takes a proactive approach to self-development.

Nonlinear: ABAQUS, NASTRAN, ADAMS, MOTION SOLVE

Durability/Fatigue: Nastran, Abaqus, ncode/MSC CAE Fatigue, ADAMS

Other Soft tools: MS Office / TCL/tk /Matlab/Python/VB scripts-Excel etc
