Senior Analyst

Job Description We are seeking a motivated accounting professional to join the Thomson Reuters Controllership team, reporting to the Senior Manager - Global Accounting. In this global role, you will work closely with key stakeholders across Thomson Reuters, with a primary focus on supporting the Reuters News Controllership function. Reuters News, a major business unit with approximately $750M in annual revenue, delivers business, financial, and global news worldwide. The ideal candidate will have an enterprise mindset, a strong focus on controls, and a collaborative approach, contributing to activities across the broader Accounting Organization. This position offers the opportunity to combine technical accounting expertise with relationship-building and drive process improvements through technology adoption. About the Role: - The role's primary responsibility is to ensure accuracy in the financial reporting of Reuters News. We provide guidance on proper accounting for various types of transactions in accordance with IFRS and work closely with the Reuters News finance team in reviewing and analyzing month-end results. - Perform month-end close processes within SAP environment. - Work closely with Reuters News Finance team on reviewing results with comparison to forecast and prior periods. - Prepare financial reports and account analyses. - Support external reporting for quarterly / annual disclosures. - Identify opportunities to implement AI for workflow efficiency. - Assist with special projects as they arise. - Provide cross-functional support to other accounting teams. About You: - Good general financial accounting experience, and conceptual knowledge about sub-ledgers and general ledgers - Good SAP (or similar ERP) and Microsoft Office skills especially MS Excel (Intermediate knowledge preferred). - Good data analytical skills and ability to use automation/AI software (Alteryx, Power BI or CoPilot) wherever needed will be an added advantage. - Experience working in a global accounting environment and ability to connect the dots across complex systems and processes. - Effective communication- both verbal and non-verbal - Quick to adapt to change and be agile. - Completion (or final stages) of an accounting or finance qualification (CPA, CMA, ACT, CA/ICMA, MBA (Fin) or similar) with first professional experience. - 3-5 years or greater experience in accounting functions. GL experience preferred.
