Consultant - Anaesthesiology

The Consultant - Anaesthesia is responsible for providing safe and effective anesthetic care to surgical patients both elective and emergency in compliance with institutional protocols and best clinical practices The role includes clinical service delivery supervision of junior staff participation in academic activities and contributions to departmental development and quality assurance programs Key Responsibilities Clinical Responsibilities Perform pre-operative anesthetic evaluations and risk assessments Administer all types of anesthesia general regional local monitored anesthesia care for surgical diagnostic and therapeutic procedures Monitor patients during and after anesthesia ensuring optimal recovery and management of complications Provide anesthesia services for emergency surgeries as part of the on-call or night-duty roster Participate in acute pain management and postoperative critical care as required Respond to Code Blue and other medical emergencies in the hospital Academic Training Supervise and train postgraduate students junior residents and interns Participate in departmental teaching sessions academic meetings and clinical case discussions Contribute to curriculum development and assessments if involved in postgraduate teaching programs Administrative Quality Assurance Ensure proper documentation of anesthesia records and maintain clinical audit data Participate in quality improvement programs incident reporting and morbidity mortality reviews Comply with hospital policies clinical protocols and safety standards Assist the HOD in operational planning equipment procurement and scheduling if assigned
