to uplift everyone everywhere by being the best way to pay and be paid Make an impact with a purpose-driven industry leader Join us today and experience Life at Visa As a Staff Software Engineer you will be part of our Value-Added Services team to help design enhance and transform payment experience in an agile development environment You will be part of team performing full stack development of payment products developing restful services highly performing secure and scalable real time and batching systems You will work on unit testing automation scripting code reviews and regular check-ins to continuous integration that will become part of your DNA If you are a passionate looking for a well-rounded experience in building complex large scale platform components or rapidly prototype experimental scenarios or dream of creating an ideal developer productivity suite leveraging creativity and automation you should come work for Visa This position is based in Bangalore India Key Responsibilities Work with Product owners architects and other relevant stakeholders to gather and refine requirements for one or more products taking in to account the existing tools and solutions across departments Translates functional requirements into system designs for one or more components and communicates how the components will interact Demonstrates understanding of non-functional requirements NFR and their impact on the system Leads junior engineers in understanding requirements Design Code test document and implement new applications as well as existing programs Develop code that complies with design specifications and meets security and coding best practices Work independently and provide guidance to junior developers Work with team members on technical software development issues problem analysis and resolution Participate in design and code review sessions as appropriate - to ensure the quality of work delivered by teammates is in accordance with development standards Write automation scripts to functionally automate the testing Take up scrum master role on rotation basis to support the team to move faster with product delivery Learn and adopt technologies like generative AI that provide developer productivity improvements Engages with product engineering teams and product owners during code design reviews regular meetings on-call rotations and incident responses throughout product development and operations cycles Leverages advanced knowledge of systems platforms and telemetry analyses to propose isolated improvements in code processes and designs to deliver on customer business objectives more effectively This is a hybrid position Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week determined by leadership site with a general guidepost of being in the office 50 or more of the time based on business needs QualificationsBasic Qualifications - 5 years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor s Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree e g Masters MBA JD MD or 0 years of work experience with a PhD OR 8 years of relevant work experience Preferred Qualifications - 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree e g Masters MBA JD MD or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD - Master s degree in Math Science Engineering or Computer Science Information Systems or related field - Minimum 8 years experience in software development specifically in building scalable distributed and multi-threaded applications - Strong proficiency in Java Spring Boot Sprint MVC JPA Hibernate is mandatory - Strong hands-on experience in developing RESTful Web Services - Solid skills in working with databases relational NoSQL along with writing and optimizing SQL queries - Proficiency developing unit and automation scripts using JUnit Karate etc - Proficiency working with Message Queuing systems like IBM WebSphere MQ Kafka etc - Understanding and hands-on experience using Generative AI tools technologies specifically in the context of Software Development Life Cycle SDLC - Proficiency working with containers cloud infrastructure - Strong fundamentals in data structures algorithms and complexity analysis - Willingness to learn and adapt to new skills and initiatives - Experience with Agile development methodology -
