Job Description

The Opportunity:

Analyze complex business problems to be solved with automated system. Provide technical expertise in identifying, evaluating and developing systems and procedures that are cost effective and meet user requirements. Configure system settings and options plans and executes unit, integration and acceptance testing and creates specifications for systems to meet business requirements. Design details of automated systems. May provide consultation to users in the area of automated systems.

POSITION PROFILE :The ES Senior Engineer Commercial is the senior developer for the Avantor Commercial (Sales, Pricing, Billing and CRM) application development and support team. The engineer will need to focus on the business process knowledge in the context of Commercial business process (leads, opportunities, quotes, tickets, visits, appointments & integration with ERP and other systems). This includes work on design and development of system components, implement of technology standards, hands-on software development and support. The commercial applications are currently based upon multiple SAP ECC, SAP C4C (Sales & Service Cloud) & ERP applications but also include proprietary/custom applications outside SAP. In this position he/she reports to the Delivery Manager Commercial reporting into the Sr Director Enterprise Solutions Commercial.

MAJOR JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Understand the business requirements design new processes to match business requirements.
- Convert business/functional requirements in technical specifications.
- Design, configure and develop the object as per the design.
- Develop or modify interface maps between ERP / Cloud systems and middleware system.
- Create/change new or existing Integration Scenarios and Integration Processes as per business needs.
- Test developed objects with test cases and prepare Unit Test Plans.
- Develop, monitor and support all interfaces with SAP and other core systems.
- Provide second line business support for SAP and other core systems. This will entail working flexibly as part of a US support team in line with the standard procedures.
- Document all system changes in line with the standard procedures.
- Oversees Unit Testing of software and database objects per schedule.
- Work on quarterly upgrade changes and validations.
- Make sure other businesses are not impacted by any system changes.
- Keep up to date with SAP releases and other technology advances so that the company can make best use of them as required by the business.
- Input ideas and suggestions, identifying the business areas where changes to business processes or new technology could benefit the company.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

- A four-year college degree in applicable discipline is required. Advanced degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
- Experience in executing minimum 3-4 projects in C4C Sales & Service Cloud.
- 5 to 8+ years experience with ABSL, UI Designer in SAP Cloud Applications Studio.
- Exposure to SAP BTP and C4C V2.
- Experience in business process re-engineering or process improvement desirable.
- Ability to troubleshoot critical issues & implement solutions based on SAP best practices.
- Improve daily operations by implementing new features, suggesting improvements to existing processes which should accelerate the business process.
- BS/BA in Information Systems, or relevant work experience.
- SAP Certifications and/or courses are a plus.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES

- Experience designing and implementing technology-enabled business solutions in client-facing roles.
- Proven proficiency / knowledge (7+ years) in following areas

- SAP C4C - Sales, Service & Marketing Cloud

- SAP Sales & Distribution

- SAP CPI

- Hand on experience in using ABSL, UI Designer in SAP Cloud Applications Studio to develop, deploy and support complex SAP Cloud for Customer implementations.
- Experience in design and development of SAP Cloud for Customer Custom Business Objects, Extensions and C4C BADI's.
- Experience in SDK solution deployment.
- Experience in integrations with SAP and non-SAP systems using SOAP and ODATA web services.
- Knowledge about Telephony/Chat integration with C4C.
- Familiar with integrations between C4C and SAP/non-SAP systems using CPI familiar with iFlows.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills in C4C with data workbench, developing systems requirements, designing and prototyping, testing, training and implementing practical business solutions under stiff deadlines.
- Knowledge of EDI/ALE and sound knowledge of IDocs.
- SAP Certified Development Associate Certification 2111 is a plus.
- Exposure to C4C - BTP integration & SAP C4C Sales/Service Cloud V2 is a plus.
- Strong technical knowledge and ability to express complex technical concepts in terms understandable to the business.
- Ability to communicate with senior leadership both from IT & business.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision and under stiff deadlines.
- Must be highly motivated, have a great work ethic and enjoy working as part of a team.
