Job Description University: Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) Country: Netherlands Deadline: 6 July 2025 Fields: Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Applied Psychology The Department of Multi-Actor Systems at Delft University of Technology invites applications for a PhD position focused on responsible multimodal information delivery in human-AI interactions. This project aims to investigate and design adaptive, responsible intelligent interactive systems that enhance user trust and decision-making without encouraging over-reliance or skepticism. The research will address how system design and user factors influence interpretation, trust, and safety in AI-empowered interactive systems, particularly those involving generative information and recommendations. Requirements Master's degree (or equivalent) in Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Applied Psychology, Human Factors, or a related discipline. Multidisciplinary background covering user aspects/psychology, research methods, and engineering skills in AI. Experience with both qualitative (e.g., user studies) and quantitative (e.g., statistical analysis, experimental design) research methodologies. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or similar, and experience with developing prototypes or intelligent interactive systems. Strong academic writing skills and an interest in publishing in peer-reviewed journals.
