At Suronex, we've built a unified, AI-powered platform that secures Cloud, Cloud Native, AI, IaC, SaaS, and Cloud Identity environmentsintegrating compliance, audit, risk, and threat management into a single experience. About the Role We are seeking a proactive and curious Cloud Security Research Intern to join our team. In this role, you'll work closely with our security and engineering teams to explore the latest cloud security technologies, evaluate emerging threats, and contribute to building stronger security solutions. This internship offers hands-on exposure to cloud platforms, modern security frameworks, and real-world security challenges across multi-cloud environments. Key Responsibilities - Research cloud security trends, new threat vectors, and evolving best practices. - Evaluate cloud & AI security products and analyze their effectiveness against various attack scenarios. - Review and support assessments of industry standards and compliance frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Benchmarks, etc.). - Perform basic cloud security assessments and vulnerability analysis across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. - Prepare research reports, summaries, whitepapers, and technical presentations. - Collaborate with cybersecurity experts and engineering teams to strengthen security controls. - Explore automation, scripting, and AI-driven approaches for enhancing cloud security. Required Skills & Qualifications - Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Security, or a related discipline. - Foundational knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their core security services. - Understanding of fundamental security concepts like IAM, encryption, network security, and firewalls. - Some exposure to security frameworks (CIS, NIST, ISO 27001) is an advantage. - Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving abilities. - Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document findings clearly. - Eagerness to learn and a strong interest in modern cloud and security technologies. Preferred Qualifications - Experience using cloud security tools or performing basic cloud security operations. - Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, Bash) for automation or data analysis. - Certifications such as AWS Security Specialty, Microsoft SC-900, or Google Cloud Security Engineer are a plus.
