Position Summary: We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Home Care Nurse to provide dedicated, round-the-clock care for an elderly bedridden father. The nurse will be responsible for managing all aspects of personal hygiene, feeding, mobility assistance, and comfort-related care. The patient is bedridden and requires full-time support with daily living activities. The ideal candidate should have a background in elderly care or nursing assistance and must be comfortable performing tasks such as diaper changing, sponge bathing, feeding, administering medication, and other hygiene-related responsibilities. Food and private accommodation will be provided within the home. Key Responsibilities: 1. Daily Personal Hygiene & Cleaning: Assist with diaper changes multiple times a day, ensuring cleanliness and skin protection. Provide sponge baths or bed baths daily or as required to maintain hygiene and comfort. Clean and moisturize the body using appropriate techniques for bed-bound patients. Clean bedding and clothes, and assist with changing clothes regularly. 2. Feeding & Nutrition Support: Prepare or assist in preparing simple meals if needed (or reheat provided meals). Help with feeding the patient at regular intervals as per the diet chart or instructions provided. Monitor food intake, hydration levels, and alert the family in case of refusal to eat or any digestive issues. 3. Mobility & Repositioning: Assist in repositioning the patient every few hours to avoid bedsores or discomfort. Ensure correct pillow placement, limb alignment, and back support. Monitor any signs of pressure sores, swelling, or skin irritation and notify the family immediately. 4. Medication Administration: Administer oral medications as per doctor’s prescription and scheduled times. Keep a record of medication timings and doses. Monitor for any side effects or signs of discomfort and alert the family if needed. 5. Monitoring Health & Comfort: Check vital signs if trained (e.g., temperature, pulse, blood pressure). Observe and report changes in health condition, sleep patterns, or behavior. Keep the patient’s environment clean, organized, and calm at all times. 6. Household & General Support (Patient-Centered): Wash and maintain hygiene of reusable care items such as feeding utensils, sponges, and towels. Manage and maintain stock of medical supplies like diapers, wipes, ointments, etc. Coordinate with visiting doctors, physiotherapists, or lab technicians when required. 7. Emotional & Social Care: Offer companionship and emotional support by interacting respectfully and gently with the patient. Encourage a positive environment and keep the patient engaged when possible through talking or simple activities (e.g., reading aloud, light music).
