Role: Senior Production Engineer - SS Vessel and Platform Manufacturing

Education Qualification: Diploma mechanical or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Years of Experience:

- Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with at least 3 years in a senior role focused on SS vessel or platform production.
- Experience with advanced manufacturing techniques and industrial automation.
- Knowledge of industry standards (ASME, BPE, EN) and quality control systems.

Job Summary:

The Production Senior Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the of manufacturing processes for Stainless Steel (SS) vessels and platforms. This position involves leading technical initiatives, troubleshooting production issues, driving process improvements, and ensuring that production standards are met while adhering to quality, safety. The Senior Engineer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including design, production, and quality control, to ensure the efficient and smooth production of high-quality SS vessels and platforms.

Accountable and Responsible for :

1. Production Process :

- Lead the development and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes for SS vessels and platforms, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and high-quality standards.
- Analyze and optimize current production processes, identifying areas for improvement, waste reduction, and productivity enhancement.
- Implement advanced manufacturing techniques to streamline production and reduce operational costs.
- Provide engineering solutions to overcome production challenges related to welding, forming, cutting, and assembly.

2. Technical Oversight and Leadership:

- Provide technical guidance to production teams on complex issues, including design specifications, welding processes, and fabrication techniques.
- Ensure that production processes align with engineering standards, specifications, and client requirements.
- Lead the investigation and resolution of any technical production issues, including product non-conformance and process inefficiencies.
- Collaborate with R&D or design engineers to incorporate new designs or modifications into production processes.

3. Quality Control and Assurance:

- Ensure that all manufactured SS vessels and platforms meet quality standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., ASME, BPE, EN).
- Work closely with the quality control team to implement and refine inspection and testing procedures (e.g., NDT, pressure testing, dimensional checks).
- Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action processes for quality failures or non-conformities.
- Monitor the performance of quality control systems to ensure consistent and reliable production outputs.

4. Equipment and Tooling Management:

- Collaborate with maintenance teams to develop preventive maintenance schedules, minimizing downtime and maximizing production efficiency.

5. Cost Control:

- Identify cost-saving opportunities through process improvements, better resource management, and optimization of raw materials.
- Monitor production costs, including labor, materials, and overheads, and make recommendations for cost reduction.

6. Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance:

- Ensure all production activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations, as well as internal safety policies.
- Promote a culture of safety by conducting safety audits, leading safety training programs, and ensuring that all employees adhere to safety protocols.

7. Cross-Functional Collaboration:

- Work closely with the Production Manager to ensure alignment on production schedules, resources, and project timelines.
- Collaborate with procurement teams to ensure timely delivery of high-quality materials and components required for production.
- Support the vendor development team to ensure suppliers meet technical requirements and production deadlines.
- Interface with the engineering and design teams to discuss product specifications.

8. Reporting and Documentation:

- Generate regular production reports, including performance metrics, production status, quality issues.
- Document and maintain technical standards, production processes, work instructions.

Skills:

1. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex production issues.
2. Excellent knowledge of production systems, manufacturing processes, and fabrication technologies.
3. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering specifications.
4. Proficient in using production management software and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
5. Strong skills, including planning, scheduling.
6. Communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact with cross-functional teams .

Preferred Skills:

1. Certification in welding techniques or mechanical fabrication.
2. Knowledge of 3D modeling software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
3. Familiarity with ERP systems and production scheduling software.

Working Conditions:

1. Full-time position, based in the manufacturing facility.
2. Exposure to shop floor environments, including welding, heavy machinery, and industrial equipment.
3. Occasional travel to vendor sites, customer locations, or construction sites may be required.
4. Ability to work in shifts or flexible hours as needed to meet production demands.
