our strategies policies and business successes around data will define our future growth prospects Unlocking the value available through the innovative use of data and AI Machine Learning on behalf of consumers businesses and communities is key to our future We at Visa have a bold vision to continue to grow and accelerate our data and AI ML-related businesses and capabilities Led by Visa s Chief Data Officer the Global Data Office coordinates high-impact complex company-wide projects related to the enterprise s data and AI business strategy platforms and products solutions as well as our policy and governance Working closely with Visa s Chief Privacy Officer the Technology organization the wider data community and the full set of Visa s global lines of business the Global Data Team is evolving Visa s data-related work with momentum and enthusiasm Driven by its commitment to trusted use of data Visa is seeking enthusiastic leaders who are change-agents and passionate about the future of data around the world About the role You will be a hands-on technical lead and senior individual contributor in BI Engineering within Visa s Global Data organization reporting to the Lead Data Insights Studio You will operate from our Global Shared Services hub in Bengaluru partnering with internal analytics teams to deliver high-impact BI solutions across products and markets You will turn Visa s rich datasets billions of cards hundreds of billions of transactions annually into actionable insights that drive business value Primary responsibilities Partner with internal analytics and business teams to transform complex ambiguous problems into clear measurable outcomes and actionable data products Lead end to end BI solution delivery - from requirements refinement to data modeling ELT ETL semantic layers and high performance dashboards Architect scalable secure and reusable BI assets enforcing standards for modeling QA and performance optimization Design intuitive UI wireframes aligned with industry best practices and Visa Team guidelines for optimal user experience Collaborate with Data Engineering Data Science teams to define architecture data flows and mappings for dashboard builds Develop high quality modules in Tableau Power BI D3 or other BI tools ensuring performance meets user expectations Ensure data accuracy and integrity in visualizations lead UAT with business teams to validate outputs Define and implement dashboard delivery mechanisms APIs subscriptions report servers ensuring scalability and efficiency Establish data report level security based on user roles and access privileges within the organization Drive Agile delivery - manage backlogs prioritize sprints conduct story pointing sprint reviews and retrospectives Create and evolve data visualization strategies frameworks and reusable components to strengthen the Data Insights practice Mentor junior engineers elevate team BI practices through code reviews design reviews and technical demos Maintain thorough documentation of all visualization processes and develop training content for end users Note This is a hybrid position Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager Qualifications Qualifications 8 years of professional experience complemented by a Master s degree in an analytical discipline such as Computer Science Statistics Finance Economics or related fields 4 years of leadership experience in managing technical architecture tooling and design systems for BI development preferably within financial services or consulting environments Strong familiarity with shared services models and cross industry consulting practices particularly in financial services Expert in data visualization ecosystems with deep knowledge of both commercial BI tools and common open source technologies Solid engineering foundation with hands on experience in CI CD for BI code and data reviews testing frameworks and observability practices Proven track record in designing and delivering high performance user centric dashboards that drive business decision making Technical skill BI Tool Expert in Tableau and Power BI including enterprise dashboarding advanced analytics and embedded delivery Architecture Integration Design end-to-end BI architecture data ingestion modeling isualization with REST APIs embedded analytics and automated reporting Programming Data Processing Strong SQL PySpark HiveQL experience with Hadoop AWS EMR NoSQL databases Data Pipelines Orchestration Proficient with Apache Airflow for workflow orchestration data quality and performance optimization DevOps for BI Skilled in Git GitHub CI CD pipelines and automated BI asset testing Front-End Advanced Visualization Familiar with React micro frontends and MicroStrategy Strategic and Functional Excellence Simplify complexity framing problems clearly and choosing the right data and design patterns Balance speed and rigor shipping iterative value while hardening for scale reliability and security Influence without authority aligning stakeholders and earning trust through transparent execution Measure what matters defining clear success metrics and closing the loop with adoption and performance A professional capacity for strong enthusiasm and accountability High attention to detail and quality Highly adaptive comfortable working within a complex and often ambiguous environment Creative thinker who thrives despite changing circumstances Ability to make and keep strategic priorities on-track without distraction Outstanding written verbal and presentation communications skills appropriate for a wide global audience Capable of summarizing complex issues into succinct messaging Proactive and effective communicator Experienced at presenting information at senior levels facilitating group discussions and debate with the ability to influence across geographic and functional lines whether virtual or in-person Strong business acumen and understanding of Visa and business models People Leadership and Stakeholder Management Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to influence and build credibility with senior leaders across a federated organization Team-oriented collaborative diplomatic and flexible with proven ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external clients at all levels of management and work on complex issues within cross-functional teams Self-starter who can responsibly advance work and is comfortable making sound well-informed judgement calls for progress without needless delays An individual who is known for building deep and trusted relationships despite sometimes competing priorities Open-minded and willing to listen to ideas and opinions from others Able to look for new solutions when current processes don t work Additional Information Visa is an EEO Employer Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race color religion sex national origin sexual orientation gender identity disability or protected veteran status Visa will also consider for employment qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with EEOC guidelines and applicable local law
