About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Chef Scripting Developer with a strong background in High Performance Computing (HPC) and hands-on expertise in Johnson & Johnson (JnJ) environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Chef scripts to automate and optimize infrastructure deployment and configuration management, while collaborating with global teams in a UK time zone.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain Chef cookbooks, recipes, and templates to automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration.
- Integrate and manage solutions in High Performance Computing (HPC) environments.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to understand infrastructure needs and deliver automation solutions.
- Ensure compliance with JnJ standards, best practices, and security requirements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve automation, deployment, and configuration issues.
- Maintain documentation of Chef code, architecture, and operational procedures.
- Work effectively in a UK time zone and coordinate with global stakeholders.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- 7+ years of professional experience in infrastructure automation and configuration management.
- Strong expertise in Chef scripting development — cookbooks, recipes, resources, templates.
- Hands-on experience in HPC (High Performance Computing) environments.
- JnJ (Johnson & Johnson) project experience is mandatory.
- Proficient in Ruby, Shell scripting, and relevant DevOps tools.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code principles.
- Experience with Linux/Unix systems administration.
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills to work with global teams.
