About the Role

CheckRed is seeking a Senior Azure Cloud Engineer to lead and optimize our Azure cloud infrastructure. This role emphasizes Azure Virtual Desktop, Intune/MDM, DevOps, and automation. The ideal candidate brings 10+ years of IT/cloud engineering experience, with at least 5+ years of hands-on Azure work and 5+ years of DevOps/automation expertise. Candidates with Azure Architecture and Security certifications are strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead design, deployment, and maintenance of Microsoft Azure environments, including Azure Virtual Desktop.
- Troubleshoot and support Intune/MDM enrollment and provisioning at scale.
- Drive automation of deployments and administration tasks using PowerShell, ARM templates, Bicep, Terraform, and CLI.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, integrating DevOps practices into cloud operations.
- Monitor, tune, and optimize resources to improve efficiency and reduce cost.
- Implement and enforce enterprise security controls with Defender, Sentinel, Purview, and Azure AD.
- Oversee system administration, patching, and upgrades across hybrid environments.
- Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to align infrastructure with business needs.
- Document architectures, configurations, and best practices for knowledge sharing.
- Mentor junior engineers and guide the team on DevOps and automation best practices.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent work experience.
- 10+ years of overall IT/cloud engineering experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on Azure experience (design, deployment, and management).
- 5+ years of DevOps/automation experience.
- Azure Architecture and/or Security certifications (preferred).
- Expert-level knowledge of PowerShell scripting and automation frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.).
- Proficiency with Windows, Linux, macOS, Android, and iOS administration.
- Deep understanding of networking concepts (VPNs, DNS, DHCP, firewalls).
- Strong background in Azure Active Directory, identity, and access management.
- Proven experience implementing secure, scalable cloud architectures.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
