Designation Research Associate Job Location Bangalore Department Veterinary ScienceAbout Syngene Incorporated in 1993 Syngene International Ltd is an innovation-focused global discovery development and manufacturing organization providing integrated scientific services to the pharmaceutical biotechnology nutrition animal health consumer goods and specialty chemical industries around the world Syngene s clientele includes world leaders such as Bristol-Myers Squibb Baxter Amgen GSK Merck KGaA and Herbalife Its innovative culture is driven by the passion of its 4240- strong team of scientists who work with clients from around the world to solve their scientific problems improve R D productivity speed up time to market and lower the cost of innovation Job Purpose 1-2 Lines The Veterinary Technician - BBRC Veterinary Sciences will provide technical support for veterinary care and promotes a collaborative team culture and demonstrate the BMS BBRC values at all times The individual will be responsible for pathogen testing clinical analysis and provide genotype support to Veterinary Science team Key Responsibilities Maximum 5-8 Points Performing PCR and Gel electrophoresis to support Genotyping Screening of samples for rodent pathogens by ELISA PCR Perform veterinary technician roles and clinical observations of the colony Coordinate for the microbial analysis of animal rooms Documentation related to husbandry practices and support activities Work closely with Veterinarians and reporting manager in Veterinary Science Authors and assists in the development of SOPs Guidelines Record keeping from the working area and the facility Ordering and monitoring of consumables and supplies Provide additional technical support as needed Able to support the periodic weekend duties and cross functional stakeholders Support team for maintaining the animal care program with high standards Educational Qualification Bachelor of Science or related field of studyTechnical functional Skills Maximum 4-6 Points Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of the different diagnostic techniques Working experience with laboratory animals such as rodents and rabbits Good understanding about the research animal facility operations is desirable Detail oriented organizational and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and effectively with a team Must have strong verbal and written communication skills Computer skills - Microsoft Office suite word processing Excel spreadsheets PowerPoint Outlook e-Learning software Learning Management Systems Experience 0-2 years of experience working in Vivarium clinical diagnosis laboratory Previous experience in ELISA and PCR analysis Handling experience of animals and related procedure is preferable Behavioral Skills Passionate Innovative Problem solving Time management and Positive Can-Do Attitude Equal Opportunity Employer It is the policy of Syngene to provide equal employment opportunity EEO to all persons regardless of age color national origin citizenship status physical or mental disability race religion creed gender sex sexual orientation gender identity and or expression genetic information marital status status with regard to public assistance veteran status or any other characteristic protected by applicable legislation or local law In addition Syngene will provide reasonable accommodations for qualified individuals with disabilities
