Job Description

Position Title: Electrical Technician

Job Purpose

To support the operation and maintenance (O&M) of the solar power plant by executing routine maintenance, plant monitoring, and fault rectification activities in coordination with the technical team, ensuring high plant availability, optimal performance, and adherence to safety standards.

Experience & Qualifications

Education: ITI Electrical Technician Certificate or Equivalent in Electrical Engineering

Experience:

Minimum 2 years in the electrical field

At least 1 year in Solar Power Plant O&M

Computer Skills: Basic computer literacy; ability to operate CMMS and SCADA systems

Roles & Responsibilities

Plant Operations & Monitoring

1. Perform preventive maintenance and attend to equipment breakdowns to reduce plant downtime.
2. Conduct visual inspections and equipment status checks using SCADA systems.
3. Monitor inverter performance and other key plant components for optimal output.
4. Prepare daily logbooks and maintain accurate records of all activities, faults, and maintenance work.
5. Support in plant performance analysis and implement corrective actions for performance optimization.

Technical Execution

1. Execute tasks as instructed by the Lead Technician and coordinate with the Control Center and Grid Coordinator.
2. Follow operational procedures for safe plant functioning during commissioning, HOTO, and stabilization phases.
3. Support in data entry and record updates in the digital CMMS platform (Company or Owner provided).
4. Maintain records of spare part usage and inform supervisors for replenishment needs.
5. Assist in troubleshooting faults and conducting root cause analysis (RCA).

Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

1. Comply with HSE guidelines and ensure safe operations at all times.
2. Participate in safety drills, technical training, and toolbox talks organized by the company.

Collaboration & Support

1. Work as part of a site team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
2. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders when required.
3. Be willing to stay at the plant site as per operational requirements.

Key Competencies

Technical Skills

- Knowledge of solar power plant equipment and systems
- Familiarity with SCADA and CMMS systems
- Ability to perform electrical troubleshooting and maintenance
