About the Role

Our client's ENGINE team is seeking a Lead Cyber Security Engineer – Network to take ownership of our enterprise network security operations. This role focuses on ensuring that network security devices are configured and maintained with a least-privileged access approach and built in alignment with secure-by-design principles. You will be responsible for maintaining compliance with cybersecurity governance frameworks, including NIST Cybersecurity Framework, while enabling the company's digital transformation journey.

This position requires a seasoned professional who can balance deep technical expertise with cross-functional collaboration, ensuring a secure, reliable, and compliant network environment across business and industrial operations.

Key Responsibilities

Network Security Design & Implementation

- Design, implement, and maintain secure business and industrial communication solutions in compliance with cybersecurity requirements.
- Develop network architectures leveraging secure network protocols and communications.
- Integrate compliance and cyber considerations into all network design and deployment activities.

Operational Support & Troubleshooting

- Provide Tier-3 technical support to operational teams, coordinating with vendors, managed service providers (MSPs), and cybersecurity teams.
- Troubleshoot complex network security issues, ensuring minimal downtime and prompt remediation.
- Maintain processes for network administration, usage, and disaster recovery.

Compliance & Governance

- Ensure network security technologies comply with industry standards, regulations, and our clients cybersecurity policies.
- Champion adherence to secure-by-design and least-privileged access principles across the enterprise.
- Participate in Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and Disaster Recovery Planning (DRP) exercises.

Collaboration & Documentation

- Work with Product Owners, Operations Managers, Risk Managers, architects, and other stakeholders to design and support network products.
- Create and maintain technical design documentation, implementation plans, and test plans.
- Use ticketing and change management systems to track incidents and changes.

Continuous Improvement & Knowledge Sharing

- Identify opportunities for automation and process optimization to enhance operational efficiency.
- Share best practices with global peers in network design, operations, and cybersecurity.
- Contribute to lifecycle activities, from planning and implementation to support and retirement.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years of professional experience in network security engineering.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Network security protocols, firewall management, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS).
- Secure network design and NIST Cybersecurity Framework.
- Enterprise network infrastructure (routing, switching, VPNs, segmentation).
- Hands-on experience with:
- Network security devices from vendors like Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Juniper.
- Secure configuration and hardening of network appliances.
- Experience in incident response, change management, and vulnerability remediation.
- Proven ability to collaborate with global, cross-functional teams.

Preferred Skills

- Industry certifications such as CISSP, CCNP Security, CCIE Security, CEH, or GIAC.
- Experience with industrial control networks (OT security).
- Familiarity with cloud network security in Azure or AWS environments.
- Strong problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
