Position Overview We are seeking a highly skilled SQL Developer/Architect with deep expertise in designing, developing, and optimizing large-scale, mission-critical PostgreSQL databases along with Typescript or ReactJS. You'll join a team dedicated to responsible data discovery, governance, and privacy at scale. Key Responsibilities - Architect, design, and implement highly scalable and available PostgreSQL database solutions to support SaaS product requirements. - Develop, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, views, triggers, and functions for high-volume production environments. - Model complex data structures and create efficient data pipelines for structured and unstructured data at scale. - Tune database performance, including indexing, partitioning, sharding, and query optimization, for petabyte-scale workloads. - Ensure database reliability, security, backup, disaster recovery, and regulatory compliance across multi-tenant cloud environments. - Collaborate closely with Engineering, AI/ML, and Product teams to translate business needs into robust database architectures. - Document database standards, schemas, and processes; conduct thorough code reviews and performance audits. - Stay current with advancements in PostgreSQL and the broader database ecosystem; recommend and implement best practices. Required Qualifications - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. - 5+ years of hands-on experience with PostgreSQL in large-scale, high-availability, and mission-critical applications. - Demonstrated ability to model, design, maintain, and tune complex relational databases managing billions of records. - Advanced SQL skills, including PL/pgSQL, window functions, and performance tuning. - Deep understanding of database internals, high-availability architectures, security, and compliance requirements for sensitive data. - Familiarity with cloud-based deployments (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and automation of database operations. - Experience working with data privacy, compliance, or regulatory frameworks (GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, etc.), a strong plus. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications - Experience with emerging data catalog, data lineage, or AI governance platforms. - Exposure to large-scale unstructured data management and search technologies.
