Vodafone Idea Limited is an Aditya Birla Group and Vodafone Group partnership It is India s leading telecom service provider The Company provides pan India Voice and Data services across 2G 3G and 4G platform With the large spectrum portfolio to support the growing demand for data and voice the company is committed to deliver delightful customer experiences and contribute towards creating a truly Digital India by enabling millions of citizens to connect and build a better tomorrow The Company is developing infrastructure to introduce newer and smarter technologies making both retail and enterprise customers future ready with innovative offerings conveniently accessible through an ecosystem of digital channels as well as extensive on-ground presence The Company is listed on National Stock Exchange NSE and Bombay Stock Exchange BSE in India RoleIndirect TaxJob Level DesignationM2 AGMFunction DepartmentFinance TaxLocationMumbai - MaharashtraJob PurposeThe role requires the incumbent to support in IDT Litigations and Investigations and facilitate closure of the same building and maintaining strong working relationships with key stakeholders legal counsels and tax consultants Key Result Areas AccountabilitiesA IDT litigations xc2 xb7 Monitoring the movement of existing matters xc2 xb7 Monitoring the case updates and or developments on online portal xc2 xb7 Discussing with counsels and participating in defining strategy for the matters at hand xc2 xb7 Liaising with the third parties consultants and lawyers shared services team and process teams for collation of data for submission xc2 xb7 Conducting legal research briefing to seniors and preparing the first cut draft of reply to show cause notices and appeal memo xc2 xb7Accompanying senior and or consultants for personal hearings xc2 xb7Representing preferably independently the company in certain specific matter before adjudicating authority and first appellate forumB IDT inquiries and investigations xc2 xb7 Analysing the requirements in any notice or inquiry letters received from Tax Department or investigating agencies xc2 xb7 Strategizing and preparing first cut submissions against such notices inquiry letters xc2 xb7 Conducting at times independently knowledge sessions for the team and or for other stakeholders of the organisationC IDT advisory and projects xc2 xb7 Assisting seniors in special advisory projects Example M A xc2 xb7 Assisting in IDT matters in terms of advising business team on classification valuation tax or duty structure on imports benefits under any schemes announced by the Government etc xc2 xb7 Assisting and facilitating the in-house digital and or process improvisation projectsD Reporting xc2 xb7Preparation of contingent liability schedules CARO other schedules related to audit as per requirement xc2 xb7Assist during discussions with statutory auditors presenting tax positions adopted by the Company xc2 xb7 Preparation of MIS related to IDT litigationsCore Competencies Knowledge Experience Extensive knowledge and experience in Indirect taxes such as GST Service Tax VAT Entry tax Local Body taxes in any Big 4 law firm or large conglomerates xc2 xb7 Thinks laterally and creatively anticipates developments proposes innovation xc2 xb7 Potential to arrive at sound judgement to solve problems - a trouble shooter xc2 xb7 Excellent inter-personal and communication skills xc2 xb7 A self-starter able to use own initiative spot opportunities and drive tax efficient business decisions xc2 xb7 A team playerMust have technical professional qualificationsCA LL B or bothYears of ExperienceMin 5-7 years post qualificationDirect reportsNAVodafone Idea Limited formerly Idea Cellular Limited An Aditya Birla Group Vodafone partnership Vodafone Idea
