An excellent and rewarding job opportunity has arisen for an experienced and ambitious individual to join our Castleford and Selby garage as a Skilled PCV Engineer/Mechanic reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, whilst maintaining the fleet of PCV vehicles. The Role Of a PSV Mechanic Will Involve - Servicing and repairs to Arriva and DVSA standards. - Continuous improvement of vehicle standards. - MOT preparation, planned preventative maintenance campaigns and quality checks. - Vehicle fault diagnosis and ensuring reliability and maintenance is kept to Arriva Standards (Higher than DVSA). - Attending roadside breakdowns. - Shift Work (Earlies /Lates/Weekends 5 out of 7). Requirements Of a PSV Mechanic - Knowledge of PSV/HGV maintenance with recognised qualifications (E.G level 3 NVQ). - Can work safely and unsupervised to pre-set standards and guidelines. - Electrical knowledge is desirable but not necessary. - A PCV license is desirable but not necessary. - Inspection of vehicles for the scheduled maintenance (training can be provided) with IRTEC accreditation favourable.
