Join Verdantas – A Top #ENR 81 Firm, We are seeking for a Backup and Storage engineer to join our team in Pune. Key Responsibilities Backup & Recovery Management - Conduct regular, scheduled recovery tests of files, applications, databases, and full systems to validate data integrity and meet Recovery Time (RTO) and Recovery Point (RPO) objectives - Administer cloud-based backup solutions and ensure efficient replication to disaster recovery sites. - Perform daily monitoring of backup jobs, promptly investigating and resolving any failures or issues. SAN & NAS - Provision, configure, and maintain enterprise storage arrays - Create and allocate LUNs, volumes, and file shares based on application and user requirements. - Implement and manage storage replication technologies (synchronous/asynchronous) for disaster recovery. Performance, Capacity, and Optimization: - Proactively monitor storage and backup infrastructure performance and capacity. Generate and analyze reports to forecast future needs. - Recommend and implement optimizations to improve efficiency, performance, and cost-effectiveness. - Perform data deduplication, compression, and tiering strategies to optimize storage utilization. Security and Compliance: · Ensure all backup and storage systems are hardened and configured according to security best practices. · Maintain and test data retention policies to comply with legal, regulatory, and organizational requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOX). · Manage access controls and permissions for storage resources. Documentation and Process Improvement: · Create and maintain detailed, accurate documentation for system configurations, architectures, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and recovery runbooks. · Develop and automate routine tasks through scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash). · Participate in the IT change management process. Support and Collaboration: - Serve as the final point of escalation for troubleshooting complex backup and storage-related issues. - Collaborate with system administrators, network engineers, and application teams to deliver integrated solutions. - Provide on-call support as part of a rotation for critical issues outside business hours. Experience: 4-8 years
