Position: Accounts Assistant
Department: Accounts & Finance
Reporting To: Accounts Manager / Senior Accountant
1. Role Overview
The Accounts Assistant will be responsible for supporting daily accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, and assisting in statutory compliance. The role requires attention to detail, discipline in maintaining records, and coordination with vendors, customers, and internal teams.
- Key Responsibilities
1. Daily Accounting Work
- Record day-to-day accounting transactions in Tally / ERP / accounting software.
- Maintain vouchers, invoices, receipts, and supporting documents.
- Handle accounts payable (vendor bills, supplier payments) and accounts receivable (customer invoices, collections).
- Prepare debit/credit notes.
2. Bank & Cash Management
- Prepare cheques, NEFT/RTGS payments, and update bank reconciliation statements.
- Maintain daily cashbook, petty cash, and expense records.
3. GST, TDS & Compliance Support
- Assist in preparation of GST returns, TDS deductions, and other statutory filings.
- Maintain proper documentation for audits and inspections.
- Coordinate with external auditors, consultants, and CA firms.
4. Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare daily/weekly MIS reports as required.
- Assist in preparing monthly P&L, balance sheet drafts, and financial summaries.
- File and organize accounting records for easy retrieval.
5. Coordination & Support
- Follow up with customers for payments and outstanding dues.
- Coordinate with vendors/suppliers for invoice clarifications.
- Support accounts manager in finalization tasks.
- Key Skills & Competencies
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles.
- Hands-on experience in Tally / ERP / accounting software.
- Familiar with GST, TDS, and other statutory compliances.
- Good Excel and MS Office skills.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Qualification & Experience
- B.Com / M.Com / Diploma in Accounting or Finance.
- 13 years of experience in accounts role (preferably in manufacturing/trading company).
- Fresher with strong accounting knowledge may also be considered.
- Working Conditions
- Office-based role.
- Regular coordination with factory, sales, and external vendors/customers.
